April Bloomfield had the pleasure of working with some of the most revolutionary chefs before taking on a kitchen of her own. She started her career in Birmingham, England learning the basics, and went on to London where she worked at Kensington Place, Bibendum and the Brackenbury. She then headed to the River Café to learn and appreciate the simplicity of the food.
Before starting the Spotted Pig, she spent the summer of 2003 in Berkeley, CA at the legendary Chez Panisse. The menu at The Spotted Pig is built upon Apri'’s stellar education and passion for cooking. Under April's direction, The Spotted Pig received one star from the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years. Later this year, she and Spotted Pig partner Ken Friedman plan to open a new fish restaurant, The John Dory.
