Home Made: Sandra Lee's Dining Room
Sandra Lee decorated every room in her new Mount Kisco, NY, house herself, and although it was a nightmare at times (she swears she will never do it again), she can finally enjoy the results—particularly this room. She calls it the Founding Fathers dining room, and she created it with her longtime boyfriend, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, in mind. The room is a nod to American history, making it the perfect place for a power couple to dine—particularly for Thanksgiving dinner. "I wanted the room to be historical and inspirational but not a museum," she says. She and the governor rub elbows with important dignitaries at the executive mansion in Albany, but this is where they host the real VIPs in their lives: "It's a room for family to eat together," she says.
