What do you do on a daily basis?
Manage the flow of production for Food Network Magazine recipe content (original recipe content or that of the talent and other recipe contributors); write, test and taste my own recipes as well as recipes produced by the Food Network Magazine test kitchen team; manage schedules and budgets; participate and plan menus for magazine events; and represent the FNK brand as need at events and online.

Who is your culinary icon?
My grandmother Paolina Rella and Peg Bracken.

Who is your favorite food TV personality, past or present?
The Galloping Gourmet

What dish or ingredient will we never catch you eating?
Bull testicles

What's your favorite condiment?
I don't use too many, but probably hot sauce.

Pastina

Salty

What kitchen tool can't you live without?
Cast-iron skillet and an old wooden spoon

What music do you like to listen to in the kitchen?
Whatever I am in the mood for — it really varies, but even silence is pretty nice too sometimes.

What's your favorite food scene from a movie?
Anything from Like Water for Chocolate

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage?
A good glass of red wine, tequila and any beer my husband brews.

A detective

Any city I have not visited before
