    On DDD, Guy has seen it all, and he has the scoop on the some of the wackiest and wildest joints out there, like R&R Taqueria serving up real deal tacos out of a gas station, the church turned brewpub servin' up a divine Lobster Mac 'n Cheese at Clarkston Union, the silver bullet food truck on the Fisherman's Wharf cranking out seafood fries at Fresh, Local, Wild, and the boxing gym dishin' out scratch-made comfort food at The Duce. It gets even more ridiculous at the Taco Bus, a real deal bus pulling out all the stops on Mexican food, and the funky dj-slash-breakfast-food spot housed in a basement putting their spin on waffles at Funk 'n Waffles. These joints may be wacky, but the food is off the chain.

    This trip, Guy's headed to the places where families rule. In Memphis, the kid-inspired joint serving up the serious fried chicken. On the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, the Thai spot where mom and pop spice up the island with pad Thai, pork larb, and the big seller: garlic fried chicken wings. And in St. Louis, the Italian-Greek joint run by two brothers, serving up a town staple in fried ravioli and mom's recipe for dolmathes.

    This trip, some of Guy's favorites are totally homemade from coast to coast. In N.Y., a real deal chef is crankin' out homemade pretzels with a special beer cheese sauce. And in Santa Barbara, Calif., the family-run joint scratch makin' authentic Mexican food, like carnitas with red salsa and pozole with homemade tortillas.
