Foodie Call With Justin Warner: Greek Dakos Salad (Video)

On this episode of Foodie Call, Justin channels the Greek heritage of his friend Andy Milonakis (who has a Greek aunt with a love of cheese that we totally understand). After dreamily waxing poetic on the vibrancy of Greek produce, funnyman Andy introduces us to a Greek bread salad called dakos.

The key to dakos is the special bread — paximadi. Though its shape might mimic that of a bagel, the construction is much (much!) tougher. This means the bread can stand up to the flavorful juices of the salad’s tomatoes and cucumbers, and, of course, to plenty of olive oil. In the end, Andy seems dutifully impressed with Justin’s efforts, and we’re glad to hear this tiny slice of the Mediterranean doesn’t have to feel so far away after all.
