LeBron James' Pizza Order Is Some Kind of Slam Dunk

Pop-quiz time! Which of the following toppings and extra ingredients does LeBron James order on his pizza: high-rise dough, spicy red sauce, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, grilled chicken, turkey meatballs, banana peppers, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, green bell peppers, Kalamata olives, red onions, spinach, sea salt, oregano, arugula, olive oil drizzle?

It turns out that the answer is all of them. And while you’re at it, throw in an entree-size arugula with seasonal fruit salad (with chicken, please) and a S’more Pie — though presumably the NBA star prefers those on the side and not on the pizza itself. (Even if he did want the salad and campfire-evocative dessert on top of his ‘za, how would they fit with all those other add-ons?)

We know this because the NBA Finals MVP posted an image of one of his recent pizza orders on Facebook with the sound advice not to “order while STARVING” along with the amusing hashtag #AddedThatSaladThough.

The order gained some solid media pickup (which may well have been the point, since, as Yahoo Sports points out that James is an investor in the pizza chain he ordered from, Blaze Pizza, which has locations across the country). And the post prompted a flurry of comments from James’ fans. One noted, “That’s a heavy pizza; you forgot the kitchen sink though … ”

Other commenters simply marveled at the price: Apart from the $2 upgrade to high-rise dough, none of the toppings added a cent to the base cost of the $7.95 pizza.
