McDonald’s Marks the Holidays with Rainbow-Sprinkled Pies

Let's be honest: You definitely want to taste these.

It’s pie season, and McDonald’s is getting in on the action by bringing back its Holiday Pies.

Those of us who haven’t been closely tracking McDonald’s seasonal pie offerings, which are apparently a thing (Baked Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin & Creme Pie are reportedly nearing the end of their 2017 run at the fast-food chain), may be interested to know that Mickey D’s rolls out a colorful, custardy, sugar-cookie-crusted, limited-time-only Holiday Pie at some of its restaurants this time of year.

Yeah, it’s been going on for a few years now. And the pies have a lot of dedicated fans on social media, many of whom have been eagerly awaiting their return.

Described by the chain as “creamy smooth, vanilla custard nestled in a flaky, buttery crust glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles,” the pies read more summer-at-the-beach (those ice-cream-worthy rainbow jimmies) than winter-by-the-fire to me, in all honesty. But hey, at 89 cents a pop — or two for $1.50 — who’s complaining? (OK, this person.)

Also — you may want to check with your local McDonald’s ahead of time. Holiday Pies are not available everywhere; some locations are offering Strawberry and Creme Pies instead, Brand Eating reports.

Plus, for traditionalists, there’s always trusty old Apple.
