Air fryers are one of the trendiest kitchen appliances of 2019. The makers of the best-selling Instant Pot even recently came out with a model (although it's exclusively sold at Walmart for now). So it’s no surprise that when a few models went on super-sale this past Prime Day, Amazon customers bought into the hype. If you’re one of the many who purchased an air fryer, but fall into the I-have-no-idea-what-to-do-now camp, you’re in luck. We’ve rounded up a few recipes that are the perfect place to start, as well as some pointers on how to make the most of your new countertop staple.

P.S. If you didn't snag on before Prime Day sales ended, check out our test kitchen-reviewed list to buy our favorite model now.

First, you can go beyond French fries with this machine.

As evidenced by recipes created by the chefs in the Food Network Kitchen, air fryers are great for so much more than fries — although, we’ve never turned down a crispy spud before. If you want to put your air fryer to good use, think about the recipes you like to make ion a regular basis. Banana bread bakes in a beautiful round in an air fryer and comes out perfectly crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Weeknight meals are a cinch.

We came up with a few new ways to use the air fryer to make your life even more convenient. Enter, air fryer fried rice and salmon dinner. Both of these recipes take less than half an hour to make and are perfect for weeknights when family dinner feels like the ultimate chore.

You can use it for just about anything.

Food Network contributor Dana Angelo White wrote a whole book about how to make healthy food using an air fryer. One of her biggest surprises? There’s not much it can’t do. “Some of the most surprising recipes are probably Shrimp Scampi, Pull-Apart Parmesan and Thyme Bread, Zoodles with Garlic Oil and Zeppole with Cannoli Dip,” she told us. Air circulation and proper cooking temperature are key, and once you master that, anything's possible!
