Nantucket, Massachusetts
Amid the cobblestone streets of Nantucket's Historic District, youll find Company of the Cauldron, a charming little restaurant that transports harried vacationers back to a time when dining was an elegant and leisurely affair. Just beyond the dark red, ivy-trimmed entrance, guests come upon a dining room that is reminiscent of an old sea captain's home. The antique ship paintings, glowing candles and tin lanterns that adorn the walls make you feel like youre miles from the bustle of Main Street. Guests of proprietors Al and Andrea are treated to an elegant menu of a single entree each night. The prix fixe dinner menu is posted a week in advance and seatings are available nightly at 6:45pm and 8:45pm. While the menu changes daily, loyal vacationers return year after year for specialties including Nantucket Vinewood Roasted Salmon, Grilled Atlantic Halibut Tandoori, Wood Grilled Chateaubriand served over Roasted Wild Mushrooms and Ginger Crusted Rack of Lamb.
To enjoy this unique dining experience, we suggest making your reservation as soon as you arrive in Nantucket. If you really want to impress your date, ask about dining on one of the three nights each week when a local harpist delights the dinner crowd with soft, romantic chords.
