Gardenburgers

1. Boil
Place vegetable stock and onions in a saucepot and bring to a boil.

Add the bulgar, chick peas, and frozen vegetables; stir to combine. Cover saucepot with a lid, turn off heat, and let rest for 15 minutes.

3. Mash
Once the liquid is absorbed, mash the mixture with a potato masher or the back of a spoon. Be sure that all of the chickpeas are thoroughly mashed. At this point mix in cheese, if using.

4. Form
Using your hands, form wheat and chickpea mixture into patties.

5. Cook
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Coat with non-stick spray and brown patties, 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and heated through. Serve as you would a regular hamburger, with the traditional toppings.

Note: Tailor gardenburgers to any child's taste by adjusting the seasonings. Try taco seasoning/chili powder for kids who love tacos; just add before mashing!
