1. Melt Combine honey, butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer for a few minutes until ingredients are melted.
2. Combine Combine granola, raisins, coconut, chocolate chips, and slivered almonds in a large bowl.
3. Cool Take sugar, honey, and butter mixture off heat and place over an ice water bath to cool slightly.
4. Incorporate Pour wet ingredients over granola mix and stir until well incorporated. The mixture will be sticky but somewhat dry.
5. Press Spoon granola into an ungreased baking dish and press firmly into the pan. Top with more mini chocolate chips. Allow to set in refrigerator for 2 hours; then slice and serve.
TIP: Try chocolate covered raisins, dried cranberries, or a different kind of nut to replace some of the basic ingredients. Let your kids get creative! For double duty, the granola bars can also be crumbled as a topping for ice cream.
