FINDING & STORING RECIPES, SEARCH, AND MORE
1. How do I use My Recipe Box?
To begin, click on the "Add to Your Recipe Box" link found on any recipe page. Please note that you must have registered for a My Recipe Box account to save recipes. If you do have an account, sign in and your selected recipes will be added to your Recipe Box. If you do not have an account, you must click the "Sign Up" link to register. You may also register and sign in by clicking the "My Recipe Box" link at the top right of every page.

Signing up for My Recipe Box, ratings and reviews require confirmed registration. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Click on the confirmation URL within that email. You may need to cut and paste the confirmation URL into your browser field. Be careful to copy the ENTIRE link into the browser field without any missing numbers or extra spaces. Important: You must respond to that email within 72 hours or your information will be deleted. Visitors using spam blockers – especially EarthLink and AOL users – may need to check their bulk or spam folders for confirmation emails. We recommend you add our
email address to your address book to ensure receipt of your confirmation email. Please note that email addresses cannot be changed because they serve as your confirmed username. To continue receiving newsletters from us at your new email address, you can visit the Change Email Address page of our Newsletter section.

After you have registered and/or signed in, you can continue to save recipes to your Recipe Box by clicking the "Add to Your Recipe Box" link on any recipe. The recipe will appear in your "All My Recipes" folder within your Recipe Box. You then can use your Recipe Box to create folders, organize recipes, add personal recipes and share saved recipes with friends. For a simple step-by-step guide, please visit our My Recipe Box Help page.

2. How do I use the recipe search?
To search for recipes, type a keyword into the search box at the top of any page and click the "Search" button. Be sure that the "Recipes" tab above the search box is selected. You may search for an ingredient (chicken, beef, pasta, etc.), a type of dish (casserole, meatloaf, cookie, etc.) or a Food Network chef’s name (Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, Alton Brown, etc.). Be as general or specific as you like. You will receive a full list of recipes associated with that keyword. You can narrow the results by selecting a specific chef, meal type, main ingredient and more from the options listed on the left of the search results page. You can also sort the results by relevance, rating, difficulty and total preparation time. To learn more, visit the
Search Tour step-by-step guide.

3. How else can I find a recipe that I saw on a show?
Several ways. Visit our
Show List A-Z to locate the show from which the recipe came. On each show page you'll see the most recently aired recipes. You can also use our Episode Finder, available on all TV pages, to locate recipes found within a recent episode you've seen. Don't forget to scroll down on the results pages!
Information for shows that air on Food Network Canada can be found at www.foodtv.ca.

4. Why do some recipes expire?
A "limited time" recipe is, for legal reasons, only available shortly before and for two weeks following the airing of an episode in which the recipe appeared. Many recipes in the database --from shows and other sources -- are available on the site at all times. They will be there when you return the following week or month. But if a recipe you like is marked "limited time," please print out the recipe for future use, since it may not be available the next time you return.

5. Why can't I get nutritional information for the recipes?
As an entertainment network, Food Network only provides the nutritional value of recipes derived from certain health-related programs or created for special web features on FoodNetwork.com.

6. How do I print recipes?
You can print recipes to fit a full page, a 3x5 card, or a 4x6 card. Look for the Print icon to the right of the recipe's ingredients and select the print size you desire, then print away.

7. How do I use the search for non-recipe information on this site?
Be sure to select the Topic option found on every search box! Note: If looking for recipes, you must select the Recipes option.

Important Note: Important Note: Only tickets obtained officially from Food Network in the manner described below will be honored.

Emeril Live is no longer in production.

Additionally, Food Network is located at Chelsea Market in New York City. Although we don't offer studio tours, you might find this one-stop, NYC culinary food shop, gourmet lover's wholesale-retail wonder world of interest. For additional information on scheduled events, food, groceries and gifts, check the market's web site at www.chelseamarket.com

2. How can I contact a particular Food Network chef?
Unfortunately, schedules for the Food Network celebrity chefs do not permit them to respond to individual questions and we do not share their personal contact information.

3. I have a question about a program I recently watched. Whom can I contact?
If you would like to email a comment to the show producers, please visit our
Show List A-Z and choose the appropriate show. Each show contains its own email link in the left margin. OTHER
1. How do I stop the ads on the website?
We use advertising to offset the costs of operating the website. We do carefully monitor the number of intrusive ads we serve. If you remain on the website without exiting the browser but continue to receive multiple pop-up or pop-under ads, there may be an issue with your browser's configuration. For instance, the browser must accept cookies or it will not know when to stop serving ads. You can check your browser's settings in Internet Explorer by visiting Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, and in Navigator/Communicator by visiting Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced.

2. My browser keeps crashing when I visit the site. How do I stop this?
Every visitor's system is configured differently, so we can't recommend one cure. We can suggest several remedies, however.

  1. Enable Java Script. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, and check the options for Java. In Navigator/Communicator, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced.
  2. Disable your pop-up blocker if you use one during the time you spend on the website.
  3. Set your security preference to Medium. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, and check the options for Java. In Navigator/Communicator, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced.
  4. Update to the most recent version of IE or Netscape.

3. I'm using AOL, WebTV, CompuServe, Earthlink or Mindspring, and I'm having problems on FoodNetwork.com with opening pages, navigating, etc. What can I do?
AOL, CompuServe, Earthlink and Mindspring use custom browsers. If you are having problems on FoodNetwork.com with a custom browser, try opening a new browser window in Internet Explorer (open your Start menu, choose Programs, from that list click on Internet Explorer). Then visit FoodNetwork.com. This will help to load the most recent pages on our site. WebTV is an entirely customized experience and many incompatibilities with FoodNetwork.com cannot be remedied at this time. If you are an AOL user who would like to change your default browser to Internet Explorer, AOL recommends the following steps:

  1. Close the AOL software and all Internet applications that you have open.
  2. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Internet Options (or Internet) icon.
  4. In the Internet Properties window click the Programs tab.
  5. In the Internet Programs area, change your default for web pages, e-mail and newsgroups individually.
  6. Click Apply and OK.

4. Who owns this website? Please visit About Us for details.

5. To send a bug report about the website, please visit our Website Comment Form.

6. You still haven't answered my question. Who do I contact? To send a question or comment about our TV programs or their recipes, please visit the TV section to locate the show to which you'd like to send a message. Choose the show from the Show A to Z List . Then click on the email link for the show located in the left margin.

*If you are unable to view the left margin or links to email individual shows we suggest the following. Click on the Weekly Program Guide from the TV section and select the show you wish to email. The email link for the show should now be visible in the left margin under the heading Related Links.
