Paula Deen, the host of Paula's Home Cooking is usually very casual, but Food Network design director Wendy Waxman pictured that once a year, she takes advantage of all the fancy antique stores around Charleston or scrapes out all of her own china, and has one big fancy feast. Rather than use a red or green theme, Wendy opted for rich blue and gold gilding which lends a sort of colonial old Southern charm to the table.

Paula is usually very casual, but Wendy pictured that once a year, she takes advantage of all the fancy antique stores around Charleston or scrapes out all of her own china, and has one big fancy feast. Rather than use a red or green theme, Wendy opted for rich blue and gold gilding which lends a sort of colonial old Southern charm to the table.
The table is topped with an old Indian runner Wendy found at Irene Karas Antique Textiles (610-730-7084).
For the plates, she raided a NY antique store called More and More (378 Amsterdam Ave, NY, NY, 212-580-8404) and found a pretty English blue and gold pattern, as well as the silverware.
Wendy found the old Champagne glasses at Darr in Brooklyn (360 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 718-797-9733) and used vintage gold-rimmed wine glasses, amber shot glasses, and small salt and pepper shakers from a local flea market.
Wendy bought some vintage glass containers in Portland, Maine at Allen and Walker Antiques (600 Congress St., Portland , ME, 207-772-8787) to hold the white Ranunculus.
The white and gold vintage gilded napkins are from a New York city flea market and are purposely mismatched since Wendy finds things too boring and predictable when everything matches - and she thinks Paula probably feels the same way. The fact that they're a bit worn makes her remember that other people have had fun while using them as well.
Wendy likes to use Christmas ornaments as decorative accents. She does not like name tags on the table and assumes Paula wouldn't either - people should be able to sit where they want.
Even though this table setting looks so fancy, it would be fun to serve laid back, picnic food since she can't imagine Paula being super fussy during the holidays.
