A Perfect Setting: George Duran
Quirky, playful and outlandish are adjectives that come to mind when Food Network design director Wendy Waxman thinks of Ham on the Street host, George Duran. Since George loves unusual culinary contraptions and often serves food on a stick, Wendy imagines him setting his holiday table with a collection of cool trinkets.

Wendy's Design Tips
Wendy completely covered George's table with rock sugar candy (large and medium sized), but thinks it could be used to make a runner, a teeny pile or multiple mini mountains. Get creative! George likes to find multiple uses for things, so Wendy used coasters (sold at Global Table) as hors d'oeuvres plates and wine bag holders from Built NY as tabletop decorations.
Since George is all about the portability of food, this table would work well at a cocktail party. Rather than confine guests to one seat, people can move around and enjoy small samples of everything. If you have lots of guests coming over who don't know one another, use quirky items (such as a mini pool table) to get people talking.
Since George likes food on a stick, Wendy set his table with multi-colored chopsticks from Global Table. Wendy found the mini pool table and playful, floral napkins at Mxyplyzyk, a store whose name (pronounced mix-ee-pliz-ik) was inspired by a character from early Superman comics.
