Sticky Situations
Your latest delectable dessert calls for 1 cup of peanut butter and a half cup of chocolate syrup. How are you supposed to measure such sticky substances? Easily, so long as you spray your measuring cups, glasses, and spoons with non-stick cooking spray before you measure. If you do, you will be amazed when that cup of peanut butter slides right out of the measuring cup and into the bowl.

Polish Perfect

You want to wear a pair of your favorite cufflinks, but they’re tarnished and you’re out of silver polish? Don’t fret. Simply dampen the item you want to polish and apply a bit of toothpaste. With a soft cloth, massage the toothpaste in and rinse with warm water. Or try a solution of one part baking soda and four parts lemon juice. Let your item sit in the solution for a few minutes, polish it with a cloth, and rinse with warm water.

AHHHH-vocados!

Avocados are one of life’s greatest foods. They’re awesome in salads, on sandwiches, and for dips. But sometimes the avocados sold in supermarkets are rock hard and you must wait for them to ripen. No need to wait a week. Pop your unripe avocados in a paper bag and keep them out of the refrigerator and at room temperature. They should ripen in less than 3 days. Also, to avoid discoloring when you cut them up—just squirt the flesh with a little lime or lemon juice to keep them nice and green.
