Great filling - bad crust

Well it all tastes very yummy but what's up with the crust? I have made it 3 times now and the crust is extremely hard. It is embarassing watching guests try to stab their fork in. It does taste good but unless I find out how to correct it I won't be making this again.

Great dessert!

I served this for a dessert at a dinner party and it was gone fast! The crust was really good and the lemon curd was great too. However, I would suggest that if you use Meyer lemons (as I did), cut down on the amount of sugar slightly. When I plated each slice, I put a dollop of whipped cream and a handful of raspberries and blueberries. It really was a wonderful dessert!

i made this dessert last night and it turned out wonderful. I love the tart taste it has and a really nice crust. This was my first time making a tart and it was simple and the recipe was great. I also made fresh whipped cream to top it off with. That came out great too. It was a nice little add on. This recipe is highly recommended.

Lemonicious!!

As per usual, this is another one of Ina's fabulous recipes. I used Meyer lemons for the curd. I ran into a little trouble with the tart dough because it didn't come together until I added a tablespoon of cold water. I think it depends on how much moisture is in the butter, so be prepared to be flexible with adding a little moisture. Thanks, Ina, for another winner recipe!

Deliciously lemon

Not What I Expected Either

I love all Ina's recipes -- except this one. While it came out beautifully, I expected it to taste beautiful. It did not. Although I used only 3 lemons, instead of 4, it was WAAAAAAY too tart! Yikes! My lips puckered on the first bite. Needless to say, there was no second bite. My husband wouldn't touch it. It got thrown out, crust and all.

This was easy and delicious

The first time I made this I set it aside, went out to do some errands and came home to find my husband and teenage sons had eaten almost the entire thing. My advice is to be careful not to pat the crust too hard when putting in the tart pan. It can be tough if you do.

This tart was too sweet. It's also tart, but I think the sweetness overwhelms it. The curd took about 20 minutes to thicken. I won't make this again. I'm disappointed because I almost always love Ina's recipes.

I've made dozens of Ina's recipes as she is my favorite Foodnetwork chef and star and this recipe is as good as it gets. I took this tart in to work the other day and even someone who doesn't care for lemon desserts loved it. I'm actually going to make it again this weekend for a dinner party. I know it'll be a hit! Thanks again Ina. You're the best!

Just like my Grandmothers

I have been looking for a recipe for over 30 years that duplicates my Grandmothers. She owned a very successful pie shop and was second generation from Versailles, France. She used "Italian" lemons as they "were strong and grown in the sun." We have a Meyer lemon tree and I used one extra lemon as they are very mild. The tart was a duplicate of hers. We had eight for Sunday lunch and consumed both tarts. My grandmother would have given you a "well done!" Your tart was as good or better than hers.

Excellent

I love this recipe. I used a pre-made frozen pie crust as a shortcut. The curd took about 20 minutes to thicken (not the ten minutes that the recipe stated). However, I think I might have been conservative on my heat level. Overall, this was absolutely delicious and everyone loved it! Definitely a repeat!

I hae been looking at the other tart pastry recipes and am thinking the wet ingredient of this recipe for the tart pastry has been left out. dough very crumbly and hard to work with, needed just a touch of liquid

Delicious!
