Just Peachy 05/26/2008 at 06:45pm User: Kelly from Virginia Beach, VA User Rating: easy to make simple instructions to follow....could use a bit more ginger for my personal tastes, will definately make this again for my family! A Peach of a Dinner!!! 05/23/2008 at 08:38pm User: Stephanie from Ft Wayne, IN User Rating: Wow! I watched Ellie make this the other day and thought it looked good. When I made it, my husband asked me if I was going to culinary school behind his back. We all loved it!! I wouldn't change a thing about it. It was light, flavorful and so delicious. Lots of toasty almonds on the top is key to this beautiful meal! My new fav..... Want more flavor 05/22/2008 at 03:50pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My husband thought this dish was too sweet. I thought it was rather tasteless. The liquid did not thicken, so I did that by using cornstarch/water mixture. It's an attractive dish when all done, but I was really disappointed with the flavor. Any suggestions on what I can add to it next time to give it more taste? More garlic? More ginger? TERRIBLE..... don't let this happen to you 05/20/2008 at 09:28pm User: Alan from nyc, NY User Rating: I first saw Ellie a few weeks back as I was flipping the channels. THe recipe she was making sounded nice, and I put her show into automatic record on by DVR. WHile her recipes sound nice and tasty and healthy at the same time, they somehow never turn out very well. The 'Savory Peach Chicken' is a perfect example. I followed the recipe and found that the sauce was so-so, and the chicken was raw in the middle. I had to put it in the microwave after I served it to my partner and me. We ate it, but didn't enjoy it. There was one piece of chicken left in the pan. My partner says that tomorrow he will re-heat it. THen it will cook through, carmelize and probably taste better. I told him if he really wants to do that, its ok but just don't serve it to me. Ellie's show is being deleted from my DVr. I am going to have cheese blintzes from ZABAR's tonight (good old zabar's). Ok, not as healthy as a low-cal chicken dish but better than going to bed hungry. Refreshing 05/15/2008 at 07:53pm User: KELLY from coral springs, FL User Rating: Delicious and easy. This would also be good with pork chops. Definitely don't skimp on the almonds-they're a must-have! Yummy!! 05/15/2008 at 03:16pm User: CHERYL from Venice, FL User Rating: I made this for dinner last night and it was really delicious. I followed the recipe with the exception of using ground ginger 1/2 tsp. in place of the raw, and I used a 16 oz. pkg. of frozen peaches. I will definately make this again. Yum! 04/28/2008 at 11:16pm User: Ariel from Crockett, CA User Rating: This was very tasty! I loved everything about it and it wasn't hard to make. Even my 13 year old son liked it. The sauce was delicious and the crunch from the almonds was fantastic. This is definitely staying in my recipe folder! Awesome! 04/13/2008 at 08:17pm User: Michelle from Johnstown, PA User Rating: Thanks so much for this fabulous recipe.. definitely a keeper! Seriously the best chicken I've had in a long time! I used chicken cutlets as I prefer them and followed the recipe except used a 16 oz. frozen bag of peaches instead of the 20 oz. in the recipe. This is one that you must try! I think that pineapple might also be a good substitute for the peaches. This is my new favorite chicken recipe! 03/18/2008 at 07:38pm User: Linda from Avon, CT User Rating: This recipe not only looks yummy & tastes delicious but it gives you the added bonus of filling the house with a luscious lingering aroma when paired with basmati rice. A side serving of fresh spinach simply wilted down and tossed with a dab of butter rounded out the meal. Savory Peach Chicken is my new favorite chicken recipe! Thanks Ellie!!! Even a picky eater loved it! 02/08/2008 at 11:14pm User: Ginger from Denver, CO User Rating: My step-son is very particular about what he eats. He LOVED this recipe! The only addition I thought about was some minced cilantro on top of the chicken breasts just before serving. I thought this would also be great with mango instead of peach! Suberb! 01/30/2008 at 07:11am User: ANGELA from Canton, MI User Rating: I thought this recipe was easy and delicious! I used frozen peaches. It is just myself and my husband, so I cut the recipe down to 2 servings. I did not see any need to add cornstarch to the broth....my sauce got very thick, probably a little too thick. My husband did not care for this dish, but he generally does nto like any sort of fruit with meat, so he is not a good critic. Second time is a charm 01/28/2008 at 12:33am User: Robin from Anchorage, AK User Rating: We made it once and felt some slight changes would be beneficial, so we tried it a second time and doubled the garlic and ginger, cooked the peaches longer than the recipe suggests to get them softer and thicken the sauce and sliced up the chicken so it would absorb more of the flavors. It was a hit and so very quick and easy to make. We would definitely serve it to guests. Wonderful ! 01/27/2008 at 06:26pm User: Susie from Port Jervis, NY User Rating: What a delicious combination of different flavors! Sweet and savory ! Tanks to Ellie healthy food CAN be delicious ! Awesome 01/23/2008 at 01:36pm User: Stacy from Chattanooga, TN User Rating: My family and I really loved this recipe. My 6 year old could not get enough. How many healthy dishes can you say that about? I will definately make it again. MY VARIATION OF SAVORY PEACH CHK 01/22/2008 at 09:20pm User: DIANNA from SAN ANTONIO, TX User Rating: I COULDN'T FIND FROZEN PEACHES SO I USED PINEAPPLE INSTEAD, I FORGOT ABOUT THE ORANGE JUICE AND JUST ADDED EXTRA CHICKEN BROTH. I WOULD HAVE LIKE THE SAUCE TO HAVE BEEN A LITTLE THICKER BUT MAYBE I DIDN'T LET IT REDUCE OR CARMELIZE ENOUGH. BUT IT WAS DELISIOUS AND A HIT WITH MY SON. I WILL SURELY ADD IT TO MY RECIPE BOX DIANNA PS KEEP THEM COMING!!! Juicy and Flavorful! 01/22/2008 at 09:18pm User: Diana from Marietta, GA User Rating: I doubled the ginger and garlic and only added 1 bag frozen peaches. This dish turned out great and really was excellent served over brown rice. Will make again for company. It's the bomb 01/21/2008 at 08:23pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My husband happened to see this recipe and insisted I give it a try. It was the Bomb at my house, even our 17 year old loved it. And that says a lot.I used homemade chicken stock and thickened the sauce with a little cornstarch. Yum!!! Loved it 01/21/2008 at 02:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My kids who are pretty picky about fruit and savory dishes, just loved it. Thanks Ellie Very satisfying 01/21/2008 at 01:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I really enjoyed this dish. I would make it for a dinner party. I thought that it would be good served with steamed brown rice, and maybe some sugar snap peas instead of brocolli (like she showed on Healthy Appetite). I also used sesame seeds sprinkled over the top instead of almonds. It was very satisfying. beaubailey 01/21/2008 at 10:50am User: Nancy from Hammond, OR User Rating: The recipe was okay, but seemed to need a boost of flavor, I feel it had was too much peach, 1 package would probably be enough, it just lacked something. Great idea though and healthy. chicken with peaches 01/21/2008 at 09:09am User: Patricia from Raynham, MA User Rating: I used panko breadcrumbs on my chicken and canned peaches drained and rinsed in water. It was delicious!! I cooked the chicken early in the day and simmered the chicken in the sauce on low for 30 min. I served it during half time on Sunday! Great Chicken Recipe!!:) 01/20/2008 at 08:19pm User: Lisa from Epworth, IA User Rating: This is really good and easy to make, I used canned peaches and it worked well, it was a little runny but tasted awesome!! Thanks for another great recipe Ellie!!:) Better Than OK 01/20/2008 at 07:44pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was easy to make and tasted pretty good. My whole family enjoyed it. Definately added great flavor to chicken. I would make it again. perfect combination of flavors 01/20/2008 at 07:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This dish was the perfect combination of flavor. The sour elements definitely balanced the sweetness of the fresh peaches I used. The toasted almonds on top really sealed the deal for me adding a great crunch and depth to the dish. Quick, easy and most importantly, delicious. easy and quick 01/20/2008 at 04:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: new way to fix chicken that my better half will eat. BORING AND TOO SWEET 01/19/2008 at 11:07pm User: susana from coral springs, FL User Rating: This dinner definitely disappointed. The frozen peaches created too sweet a taste without a counter-balance. In the end, it was just an overly sweet piece of basic chicken. Our house rule: would we pay for this dish in a restaurant, and would we serve it to guests? On both counts, the answer is a definite, NO. |
