I made these for a tapas and paella party I had few weeks ago. They were the first thing to go. My hosts for New Years called and begged me to make these for their New Year's Party. I added some red pepper flakes for a little kick

I have very little cooking experience, but these meatballs made me look like a master chef! Everyone at the family holiday party was raving about them.

Only Get Better In The Fridge

These are tasty meatballs, full of flavor and with a great texture. I have to make a double recipe, though, because my family loves to eat them for a few days - this is the kind of recipe that gets better as the flavors marinate together in the fridge!

This recipe was fantastic and fairly easy to make. This is a recipe that is especially good the next day so you can make it in advance!

Easy and yummy recipe. I made these for a Tapas party and they were a hit. I agree with other reviewers that rolling all those little meatballs can be time-consuming, and that your stove will end up grease-splattered, but those things make cooking fun! I used used ground meatloaf mix for mine (easy!), added a pinch more nutmeg than what the recipe suggested, and added some smoked Spanish paprika to the sauce while I reduced it. This gave them a more authentic flavor. I made a meatball sandwich for my boyfriend with the leftovers, topped it with fresh mozzarella, and you'd have thought he won the lottery. I would definitely make these again.

Great depth of flavor.

I made these last night as part of an after-theatre tapas party. They were quite time consuming - rolling out 90 tiny meatballs took a long time, but wasn't at all difficult. Anyway, they were terrific! My husband said they were the best meatballs he had ever eaten. We only had about 20 people, and I made tons of food, but there were exactly 11 meatballs left at the end of the night (which my hubby ate in a sandwich today!). The flavor created by the sauteed onions and peppers and the addition of pork to the ground beef, and then the garlic in the sauce, all made for a depth of flavor you really would not expect for a simple meatball!

Awesome!

I made this for a girls night dinner. Everyone was in love with the meatballs. I couldn't find whole tomatoes at the supermarket so I used diced and it tasted amazing.

Loved the flavor of this dish and people complimented it, but found two problems. One - it was a little too oily for me. Will use more lean beef next time and less oil. Two - the meatballs kept falling apart on me when I was browning them and then again when stirring them in sauce. But, most held up ok, and the rest I broke up to make a thicker sauce.

super easy and GOOD too!!!

very tasty, easy to make, I used the oven to bake the meatballs at about 375 degrees: no oil splatters to clean up afterwards! I served this at a bridal shower and it went over very well!

This was great!!

These meatballs were a great mix between Italian and Spanish meatballs! Goes well with potatoes, rice or pasta.

Disappointed

I (painstakingly) made these meatballs for a Tapas party and though the flavour was delicous, the presentation wasn't great. I've reviewed the recipe again to see if I made a mistake, but can only think that maybe the peppers and onions were too big because the meatballs didn't really hold their shape. Not sure I'd make them again or I'd cook them in the oven because the shaking in the frying pan broke them up even more. Too bad.
