Good flavor 08/12/2006 at 11:49am User: Marcia from Houston, TX User Rating: I liked the taste of this ice cream but I forgot to adequately chill the peaches before adding them to the ice cream. Mistake! Be sure to chill thoroughly or even freeze on a cookie sheet first. Also, I have problems with ice cream "icing up" so I added 1 tbsp corn syrup which seemed to help. I also added a touch of white pepper to the peaches which helps to heighten the peach flavor. Good, but not great 08/10/2005 at 06:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I didn't particularly care for this recipe. The peach taste was faint, not fresh. The ice cream feels oily to the taste after the first bite or two. I guess my search for the perfect peach ice cream will continue next year when my peach tree provides its next crop. love in the tummy 08/10/2005 at 10:34am User: Anonymous User Rating: a wonderful recipe. the flavor was a bit mild (could have been that I used less flavorful peaches.) Was very good w/ caramel sauce, banana ice cream (see Alton's other ice cream recipe), and cashews. There's nothing like homemade ice cream 07/09/2004 at 04:38pm User: MISSY from New York, NY User Rating: I used all cream instead of half and half because I forgot about it at the supermarket. It is so rich and creamy and the flavors of peach and vanilla combine perfectly. It helps to add the peaches a little more slowly than I did because mine are clumped together instead of spread out uniformly. It's a little labor intensive, but completely worth it. |
