This recipe is PERFECT - smooth, creamy, and very straightforward! Instead of the various toppings, I made caramelized sugar, put it in the bottom of a 9" souffle dish, and baked the flan for 40 minutes. It was beautiful. This girl only needs three men in her life: Dad, Husband, and Alton Brown!

This is a very easy to prepare treat. We used applebutter in ours, it made a nice and tastey change from regular flan

This is a super recipe...my husband who has trained as a professional chef could not get enough of the extra smooth texture and when I made it for my step dad's birthday (who happens to be Puerto Rican) he said it was better than his mom's! Definately an easy yet on target recipe with many chances for personalization
