I love this recipe! Although this recipe asks for garlic, onion, tomato paste, I tried it with Sofrito, just like another person suggested. And let me say...I love it! Its my favorite rice dish any time of year!

I tried this recipe and it was average. Still very tasty but It doesn't compare to when you cook this rice with sofrito. This recipe calls for the same ingredients that are in sofrito but with sofrito all the flavors get marinated making it taste excellent.

For the past year, I have been trying to perfect cooking rice the way a good friend from Puerto Rico makes it. Though she has described her process to me many times, every time I tried it we ended up with mushy rice. I found this recipe and the first time I tried making it - it was perfectly delicious! I am thrilled to find this recipe and will always follow these steps. Thank you so much!

I love this recipe because at least there is one show on here that give Puerto Rican recipes. I see al other shows with Mexican, Cuban, and South American recipes but no Puerto Rican ones. I prepared this recipe and it was great.......
