Fried chicken disaster!

My son and I were really excited about this recipe. We bought all the ingredients, and followed the show as we cooked the chicken. I cooked the chicken as directed, but when we sat down to eat, the center of the chicken was red, and if I had cooked it anymore, it would have been too dark, probably burned on the outside. The taste of peppers in the chicken, was kind of gross, and the crust to the chicken was kind of grainy and hard. It looked good, thats about it. Im going to try the recipe on the cornmeal box.

Excellent

I was very excited to try this recipe because it looked so good on TV. Using careful temperature measurements and following the recipe exactly, the chicken skin came out burned but the inside was bloody, undercooked.

really good chicken

This was moist, flavorful, delicious. To previos reviewer: ummm... food 911 hasn't filmed a new episode in at least 3 years.

Not even close

The chicken had a nice crust, but the cornmeal ruined it. I use cornmeal for fish not chicken. I have watched a few of his episodes. He lacks personality. Food Network already has a "rescue chef", his name is Tyler Florence...Food 911.

Good flavor and very crisp crust. I had to cook it a little dark to get it finished, but that was more likely a product of an inferior oil thermometer than anything else.

OMYGOD!

This is one of the best fried chicken recipes I have ever made. I marinated the chicken in the chipolte peppers/adobo sauce and butter milk for about 18 hours. The flavor permiates the meat to the bone. Highly recommended for those that like their chicken spiced up a notch! Not hot, but a totally different flavor. I loved it!
