Fried chicken disaster! 07/16/2008 at 02:46pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My son and I were really excited about this recipe. We bought all the ingredients, and followed the show as we cooked the chicken. I cooked the chicken as directed, but when we sat down to eat, the center of the chicken was red, and if I had cooked it anymore, it would have been too dark, probably burned on the outside. The taste of peppers in the chicken, was kind of gross, and the crust to the chicken was kind of grainy and hard. It looked good, thats about it. Im going to try the recipe on the cornmeal box. Excellent 06/23/2008 at 09:52pm User: Kyndra from London, OH User Rating: Best fried chicken I have ever made! very disappointing 06/22/2008 at 11:13pm User: Deena from College Station, TX User Rating: I was very excited to try this recipe because it looked so good on TV. Using careful temperature measurements and following the recipe exactly, the chicken skin came out burned but the inside was bloody, undercooked. really good chicken 06/21/2008 at 06:48pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was moist, flavorful, delicious. To previos reviewer: ummm... food 911 hasn't filmed a new episode in at least 3 years. Not even close 03/21/2008 at 03:59pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The chicken had a nice crust, but the cornmeal ruined it. I use cornmeal for fish not chicken. I have watched a few of his episodes. He lacks personality. Food Network already has a "rescue chef", his name is Tyler Florence...Food 911. Not too spicy 03/19/2008 at 12:39pm User: Joanne from Concord, CA User Rating: Great recipe - not too spicy. a good all around menu. Nice and cruchy 03/18/2008 at 02:39pm User: Todd from Plainfield, IN User Rating: Good flavor and very crisp crust. I had to cook it a little dark to get it finished, but that was more likely a product of an inferior oil thermometer than anything else. OMYGOD! 03/16/2008 at 06:55pm User: David from Keller, TX User Rating: This is one of the best fried chicken recipes I have ever made. I marinated the chicken in the chipolte peppers/adobo sauce and butter milk for about 18 hours. The flavor permiates the meat to the bone. Highly recommended for those that like their chicken spiced up a notch! Not hot, but a totally different flavor. I loved it! |
