Spicy sausage, chicken and bean pot

This dish is great. It has amazing flavor. the sage reminds me of Thanksgiving. You could probably use turkey leftovers as a sub for the chicken. The bread crumbs give it a hearty texture. I will make this one over and over.

You will not be disappointed-this dish delivers!

After watching Rachel make this on TV we tried it & it was fantastic. It's one of those dishes that you take the spoon to and take a bite any time you're in the kitchen. The flavors work so well together, paired with a lush bottle of red wine some crusty italian bread and you're good to go. This dish is crazy good. I'm even making it for my mother-in-law, how cool is that?

My new weeknight favorite

When I saw it on the show it looked so good I couldn't wait to make it. I wasn't disappointed. It was delicious. I passed the recipe on to a friend who had a couple of suggestions to make it even easier, She used pre-shredded carrots and, instead of putting a baguette in the food processor, she used croutons. I haven't tried it that way yet, but it certainly is easier than cleaning the food processor.

Spicy and tasty

I loved this recipe, but it's very meat heavy. The next time, I'm going to omit the chicken and add more veggies. There's plenty of meat, and flavor, from just the two types of sausage.

30 minutes is all it takes!

If you can't make this meal in 30 minutes don't complain. So what you are slow....who cares. Take your time and enjoy the experience. I have never had a problem with making any of RR'S recipes in 30 minutes. It's not about having someone prep for me either. This is a great recipe that can be altered to anyone's taste.....use your imigination with the meats you like.

Very easy and tasty

As promised, this was a quick and easy dish that was very tasty. I ended up making a few minor modifications and would definitely make it this way again. Here is what I did: - Left out the andouille sausage, instead just used an entire 4-pack of italian sausages (ilo casing) - Used 1 1/2 cups of stock ilo 2 - Substituted one can of the white kidney beans with garbanzo beans - Used a nice lager ilo the wine since I didn't want to open a new bottle.

I too had a problem with it being a bit soupy. I added some lentils and put in 2 parsnips (love parsnips) then instead of bread and baking, I served it like gumbo over rice. It made a nice offset to the meat (I felt it needed more carb's) .. family liked it so I will be making it again. Next time I might try more beans or cut down on the liquid to make it thicker.

5 min. prep- no way

This is a delicious one pot meal and would've gotten 5 stars but this in no way is a 30 min meal. It's more like 30 prep and 60 min cooking. All those raw veggies and thigh meat need longer to cook! Still good enough to make again.

Waste of money & food

It must have been my fault because this recipe got great reviews from others.. I followed it TO A TEE and I am not a novice cook by any means. It didn't seem to be turning out right from the jump. There was always way more liquid in the pot than what would have seemed to be correct from the directions. Just a big old mess for me :( No idea what went wrong!

Unbelievably Good!!!

I thought this would be good but had no idea just how good! Both my husband and I could not get over how all the varied flavors just meshed together. I did improvise a little, using regular hot sausage, regular turkey sausages and a pinch of tarragon in place of the sage. Delish!

Not bad

I couldn't wait to make this recipe but to be honest, I myself was not all that impressed with it. But luckily, my picky fiance was! Mine ended up pretty soupy so i added cornstarch to thicken it up a bit (I'm not a big fan of putting all that bean liquid in, it's not very appetizing to me. I think that if I make it again, I'll add even more beans and maybe some potatoes, seems like it might balance out better with the amount of meat. Definitely sticks to your bones though!

It's a keeper!!!

This recipe sounded so yummy, but since I am trying to lose weight, I had to trim some of the fat, so to speak. I used turkey sausage and chicken and less olive oil. I also added in different veggies such as baby potatoes and zucchini. For the bread crumbs I used a smidge of olive oil instead of butter. This was a big hit in my family and I can't wait to dive into a bowl of leftovers!!!

Good on a Cold Night!

Really great flavor - pretty heavy though. Good on a cold night on the couch! Dried herbs worked just fine.

My husband made this tonight and it was delicious. He used chicken breasts instead of thighs since I do not care for dark meat. This one is a keeper!
