Yummy pie! 07/14/2008 at 03:27pm User: STACEY from warrenton, VA User Rating: Took this pie on a camping trip for my son's birthday and it was delicious! a HUGE hit! 07/12/2008 at 12:36pm User: PEG from Akron, OH User Rating: So, I see Paula & her son making these yesterday and hopped right up to make them. And proceeded to make several mistakes... first, I subsituted the walnuts for 2 C. peanut butter chips. My guys don't like nuts. If there were too many chips before, as one reviewer stated, there were WAY too many in mine. Then I put the batter in 10" pie pans and lowered the temp to 325?. The pies are flat and more than slightly underdone, looking more like cookies than pie. So, this a.m. I am packing them up for my son to share with his paintball team - those guys will eat anything. When he declares he is NOT taking them to share, I am not particularly surprised as they were a bit of failure. THEN, he says since they are the BEST thing I have made in awhile, he is keeping them all for himself. Apparently, despite all my mistakes, the recipe is a keeper! Wow! 07/11/2008 at 10:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: What an amazing pie! I worried that two pies would be too much but boy was I wrong! This pie was so good that it was gobbled down quick! Yummy! 07/11/2008 at 01:36pm User: Sarah from Pawtucket, RI User Rating: This is a great pie. I made them and both my family and my boyfriends family devoured them! I will say I baked them about 3-4 minutes longer than stated. Its just like a big cookie! My boyfriend is a peanut butter lover, so I added peanut butter chips to one and it was awesome! Choc CHIP Delicious ! 07/07/2008 at 03:51pm User: Angela from Sault Ste. Marie, MI User Rating: After watching Paula make this on her July 4th episode, I baked it and brought it to work the next Monday for a co-worker's birthday. It was a hit; everyone loved it. I hated to tell them how EASY this was ! One Big Yummy Cookies 06/30/2008 at 04:30pm User: Court from Suwanee, GA User Rating: Yummy!!! i love nothing more than a warm chocolate chip cookie, and this is just that except 20x bigger!! it is not your basic pie, but is great nevertheless! The recipe also makes two, which is convinient since they go so fast! i used some of the other reviews suggestions of adding other mix ins besides just chocolate chips, and that worked too! i used toffee chips and in one of the two and it turned out great!!!! 2 desserts in one 05/12/2008 at 02:48pm User: Emily from Washington, PA User Rating: I thought this recipe was super quick and yummy! I followed the batter recipe to the nose, but when that was complete, I devided the batters and added chocolate chips to one and butterscotch chips to the other. I poured the chocolate chip one into a pie plate, just as the recipe says to do. I poured the butterscotch chip batter into a 9X9 inch pan. So I got a yummy chocolate chip pie, and wonderful blondies all from the same recipe! Yummy and Chewy 05/07/2008 at 05:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: All I can say is this is just a fabulous recipe. I cut down one the sugars a bit and used some candy coated chocolate kisses just to give it some color. My children really loved this. I like that it makes two so we can eat one now and save one for later or give one away. I didn't put the whip cream on top as directed since I'm not sure how it would affect the storage of this pie and we can't eat it all in one sitting (although we would like to). Yummy in Orlando 04/26/2008 at 06:43pm User: April from Orlando, FL User Rating: The pies turned out wonderful. Took one to work and WOW, what a hit. I'm making it again tomorrow. A little too sweet... 04/14/2008 at 02:09pm User: Ellen from Chicago, IL User Rating: Very good, but had too many chocolate chips...will use 2 cups next time. delicious cookie 04/07/2008 at 01:52pm User: stacey from Shickshinny, PA User Rating: I saw this recipe on the web site and had to try it. All of Paulas recipe are wonderful! It was very easy to make and turned out delicious, but the only thing i have to say is that it is just a big chocolate chip cookie. A pie tends to be on the creamy side. All this is a giant chocolate chip cookie, but it is very good. Can't Go Wrong 04/07/2008 at 02:08am User: Anonymous User Rating: So easy, and not too sweet (I thought it might be). The only "complaint" I have it that it's for two pies, and a bit tricky to cut in half. Skipped the whipped cream and served with ice cream :) TOTALLY AWESOME 04/04/2008 at 04:50pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Thanks again Paula and Bobby. Made the pies for Sunday night dessert. My family loved it finished one pie on Sunday and the second on Monday. I will be making this over and over. Excellence! 04/01/2008 at 12:55am User: Sara from Sierra Madre, CA User Rating: I just finished baking this (and eating a slice)..and yummy! I'm not a pie person, but this is more like a thick, giant cookie. :-D It's incredible! I used whole wheat flour, as it's my preference, and I cut the sugars down about 1/4 cup each. Also, I halved the recipe because I only wanted to make one (I used one jumbo egg, which seemed to work fine). I'm so excited to have stumbled upon this recipe.. thank you to the Deen's! This one's going into my recipe binder, asap! Great variations 03/25/2008 at 07:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made one of the pies per the recipe. I added coconut and butterscotch chips to the second--it was delicious! I may also experiment with peanut butter chips in the future. Thanks Paula! Great 03/23/2008 at 01:43pm User: judy from groveport, OH User Rating: I make a Toll House Pie that is very rich, this pie will replace it. Anyone who likes chocolate chip cookies will love it. I added pecans to one of the pies and it was very good. Awesome! 03/22/2008 at 08:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It is great for the chocolate lover. Whipping Cream makes it even better. Thanks Paula! |
