A real disaster!

This recipe was very easy to make; however, the smoked mozzarella was so overpowering that it dominated the flavor of the dish! With the smoked cheese being the dominant flavor, the taste of the eggplant, Marsala, basil, and other ingredients was totally lost.

Giada does it again!

Fabulous. The smoked mutz adds a great depthe of flavor. I made homemade marinara and added some garlic. My husband rated it one of the top 10 things I've made for him! Thanks Giada!

Not really that difficult

This recipe was very easy to follow. The most time consuming part was grilling the eggplant, which I did on the outdoor grill. I did not have a problem getting the timbale out of the pan, I think because of the olive oil used when grilling the eggplant. I think next time I will cut my eggplant lengthwise for easier formation. My timbale looked just like the picture, and was very yummy. It could feed an army!

Nice Presentation

I thought it looked as great as it tasted. Good for company. I don't think the recipe was difficult.

This was so good. It's a good dish to make for a party because of the presentation. I loved the flavors of everything together especially the smoked mozzarella. Definitely a keeper!

Although it took a while to put together, it was worth it. What a big hit! It made a beautiful presentation and very easy to serve and delicious. My husband wants me to make it for a side dish at Thanksgiving. Cris, Streamwood

The hardest thing was finding the cheese. Then next time I will freeze the cheese to grate it as it is so soft and hard to manage, also the same for the pork. Everybody just loved the meal and requested it again for next month. Had to give the recipe to two stores before they would sell me the cheese. They will be serving it in their resturant they said. This recipe was listed as difficult but it really was fairly easy. The hardest part was getting it out of the spring form pan. Very tasty and hearty!

It took almost 1 1/2 hours to make this for a mediocre taste. I would not make again.

This recipe was tasty except that I don't care for the grilled eggplant. I prefer it breaded and fried. But the pasta, meat and cheeses are yummy.

I made this last night after seeing it on TV just hours before. It is AMAZING! And looks so impressive and beautiful when you take it out of the pan. The smoked mozzarella and fresh basil, the grilled eggplant...yum. I used the George Foreman grill to grill the eggplant and it worked like a charm.

First, the difficulty rating on this recipe should be changed. It is not hard to make, though it does take a little time. It was WELL worth it. I usually don't use store-bought marinara but it was just fine. Unfortunately, I couldn't find smoked mozarella and had to use regular...but it worked just as well. The only thing I will do differently next time is PEEL the eggplant. I prefer eggplant dishes without the skin. A really, really good dish!
