My mother used to make red cabbage with apples all the time when I was a kid... and then I moved out 16 years ago and sort of forgot about it - until now. This recipe is easy and delicious - sweet and tangy. YUM! Believe it or not, one of my favorite comfort foods because of the memories, and I'm so glad I found it again!

This dish is so easy to make. I can never get my kids to eat cabbage, but they loved the combination of cabbage and apples! It is such a surprising taste combination. A big hit with my family!

My grandmother is German, and I grew up eating this at her house on a regular basis, this receipe tastes so much like hers. I did increase the amount of vinegar, hers was always strong too. Just remember that cooking cabbage stinks, either open a window or burn a kitchen candle when you cook this.

Red cabbage with dill is unsuall in Germany. Red cabbage is seasoned with bayleaf, clover, cinnamon(-stick or powder) and orangepeel. I've never seen/tasted red cabbage with dill and I can't imagine that it could taste delicious.

Not sure why this didn't overwelm me as I expected it to. The ingrediants and flavors were balanced, however the taste was just so-so. Didn't like the sweet taste at all.

One of my favorite restaurants makes a braised red cabbage. Now I can make it myself, and I think it's even better!!! Loved it!!!

My family all liked this recipe. A very unusual event in our house. I thought it was tasty, easy and had ingredients I had in the house.
