I have made these cookies for every occasion since Valentine's day. Everyone loves them. They are the best cookies ever! I have put them on sticks for cookie lollypops and cut them into shapes. Not only are they delicious, they are easy to make.

The dough handled nicely and was perfect for cookie cutters. Pleasantly not too sweet a cookie.

Delicious!

I like sturdy but soft sugar cookies for seasonal decorating. These were very classic with good flavor.

these were the easiest cookies i've ever made and the made exceptional gifts. easy to decorate and cooked quickly. but, i like mine a bit more sugary, so i added an extra 1/2 cup of sugar. definitely try this recipe!

Better than the Best Cut Out Cookie

My daughter and I made these for Valentine's Day. We baked cut out hearts on lollipop sticks. After we decorated them, we wrapped them in cellophane bags, tied with ribbons. They were a HUGE hit. This cookie is just like the expensive franchise one that is thick with that smooth hardened icing. I have been searching a long time for this recipe!! Use these for all your occasions. No better or easier one in my book. Don't be afraid of the flour, I made 1 batch with 2.5 cups, and 1 with 3 cups. Both very good.

These were absolutely delicious and everyone loved them! I made the amateur mistake of not adding enough flour out of fear that they wouldn't be chewy enough. After 2 hours of chilling, the dough stuck to everything and I had to knead in the extra flour by hand. Even then, they came out absolutely fabulous and looked and tasted professionally made. Great recipe!
