You can't drive to a take-out place faster than you can make this soup--and my family likes it better.

Decent, not wonderful. Not very flavorful, but easy. Added some tofu, which was yummy.

Ease to prepare

Way better than the Egg Drop Soup at my local place! A basic recipe with good flavor. You can use chicken bouillon, if so, for the cornstarch mixture use water and you most likely will not need to add salt and pepper, also might need to add more water with the bouillon to prevent it from being to salty. Like the previous review said, this recipe can be expanded on. I added some finely chopped Nappa Cabbage. I will make this again.

It was easy, but it was bland

This was an easy recipe to make, but it had no flavor, just chicken soup. I won't make this again.

I really did not find this dish to be very tasty. It did not thicken enough, and the taste was not very authentic.

Good As Any Egg Drop Soup

This is as good as any egg drop soup. Egg Drop soup is a simple chinese-american soup consisting of basically chicken stock and egg. The added ginger gives it a nice kick. An alternative is to simmer the broth with a couple of coins of fresh ginger about 1/2 hour prior to making the soup. Remove the coins prior to serving and omit the grated ginger from the recipe.

amazing on some of the revies saying no taste, they must be using some bad ingriedients. Everyone I have served this too love it, even those who are not fans of egg drop soup. I tend to double/triple recipe and always turns our wonderful

Made it for my hubby who was having a cold and it was great. Easy to make after a long working day. Took the advice of another review and added coins of ginger. Gave it a very nice taste. Definitely will be in my recipe collection.

I actually use this more than once and it comes out fairly nice. The recipe is easy to follow and super fast to make. The only problem I find is that the chicken stock taste is a bit strong and something that lingers to the last bite.

This isn't like the Egg Drop soup you would get at a restuarant, I think it's better, especially when topped off with green onions. Very easy to make.

Great recipe, easy, and amazing flavor. This is my favorite kind of soup and I'm very picky in restaurants. This definitely met my standards. I agree with the reviews that suggest adding some coins of ginger root then simmering for a while. I also added bamboo shoots, baby corn, and tofu which was delicious. Next time I'll add spinach too. Next time I'll also reduce the amount of soy sauce. Depending on what kind of chicken stock you use, the soy sauce can make it a little too salty. But other than that, AMAZING!!!
