The crab cakes were very good although I made some changes. I substituted 6 T of sour cream for 4 T Mayo and 2 T grainy mustard, added 2 finely chopped green onions (white and green parts), and 3 T finely diced red pepper. I used half as much bread crumbs. Using a ice cream scoop, placed crab mixture on sheet pan with corn meal, chilled overnight. Baked at 375* 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!

My husband and I went to crabbing to the Oregon Coast and got a lot of crabs last week. I made the crab cakes out of the crabs we caught and turn out great! I modified this recipe a little bit and added a small amount of chopped green onions and also added maybe a little bit more salt than the recipe called for. This recipe was as great as Sara's other recipes!

Good stuff, here's a tip though...

Crab cakes were great...I would suggest sprinkling the crab cakes with Old Bay, some salt and pepper as soon as you take them from the oil...gives them a good seasoning.

The crab cakes were good...I would just add a little more seasoning and diced red or roasted pepper for extra flavor.

Nice flavors......but we thought the cakes were a bit bready. A little less breadcrumbs next time, hoping they'll stay in tact. Worth another try!

Thanks Sarah for this recipe. It was pretty easy to make. My husband will never eat crab cakes in a restaurant again now that he knows how they should taste.

The crab cakes were not bad, but not great either. I may be spoiled by living in Maryland and having great crab cakes all the time, but I still didn't think they were great. Probably won't make them again.

My whole family loves this one. I cut back on the breadcrumbs and used the Italian seasoned style for more flavor. Garnish with chopped green onion for presentation and flavor. I heated up left overs in the microwave for ~45 sec and then popped in the toaster oven to crisp.
