Change Up 12/23/2006 at 09:50pm User: Michelle from The Woodlands, TX User Rating: The crab cakes were very good although I made some changes. I substituted 6 T of sour cream for 4 T Mayo and 2 T grainy mustard, added 2 finely chopped green onions (white and green parts), and 3 T finely diced red pepper. I used half as much bread crumbs. Using a ice cream scoop, placed crab mixture on sheet pan with corn meal, chilled overnight. Baked at 375* 15-20 minutes. Enjoy! Great Great Recipe! 10/25/2005 at 03:53am User: Miki from Beaverton, OR User Rating: My husband and I went to crabbing to the Oregon Coast and got a lot of crabs last week. I made the crab cakes out of the crabs we caught and turn out great! I modified this recipe a little bit and added a small amount of chopped green onions and also added maybe a little bit more salt than the recipe called for. This recipe was as great as Sara's other recipes! Good stuff, here's a tip though... 10/12/2004 at 11:04pm User: MICHAEL from Baltimore, MD User Rating: Crab cakes were great...I would suggest sprinkling the crab cakes with Old Bay, some salt and pepper as soon as you take them from the oil...gives them a good seasoning. Good Crab Cakes 10/02/2005 at 09:23am User: KATE from Swansea, MA User Rating: The crab cakes were good...I would just add a little more seasoning and diced red or roasted pepper for extra flavor. If at first you don't succeed...... 08/18/2005 at 12:52pm User: BETTY from jacksonville, FL User Rating: Nice flavors......but we thought the cakes were a bit bready. A little less breadcrumbs next time, hoping they'll stay in tact. Worth another try! goody'craby'cakes 06/18/2007 at 11:57pm User: tracy from conyers, GA User Rating: the best ive ever had Barbara's 28th Birthday 06/15/2004 at 09:11am User: Anonymous User Rating: Makes about 10 crab cakes (1/2 cup each) I used 1/2 cup to measure each crab cake crabby patties 05/10/2005 at 07:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: even beth loved these cakes Great Crab Cakes 04/06/2007 at 10:25pm User: Lucie from Tucson, AZ User Rating: Thanks Sarah for this recipe. Crab chicken 02/21/2007 at 10:09pm User: Gregory from Wasilla, AK User Rating: Dident have any crab so i used chicken and the whole family loved it. ok 01/30/2008 at 05:12pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The crab cakes were not bad, but not great either. I may be spoiled by living in Maryland and having great crab cakes all the time, but I still didn't think they were great. Probably won't make them again. Great Recipe 01/20/2008 at 12:29pm User: Beth from Thousand Oaks, CA User Rating: My whole family loves this one. I cut back on the breadcrumbs and used the Italian seasoned style for more flavor. Garnish with chopped green onion for presentation and flavor. I heated up left overs in the microwave for ~45 sec and then popped in the toaster oven to crisp. |
