Awesome Recipe! 12/22/2007 at 09:33am User: Anonymous User Rating: My kids and I had as much fun making this candy as eating it! We took the wrapper off of a store bought candy to measure the size for the wax paper and that helped a lot. I was really glad that I used the candy thermometer because I would never have been able to guess when the candy had reached the right temp. We liked it so much we are going to do it again now! yummy but messy 11/05/2006 at 09:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: i would suggest using pie tins instead of big pans that way clean up is not such a hassle. I really like the recipie but it was no t to specific regarding raping and roping the taffy and mine turned out the taffy consistancy but i could not package it properly. !REMEBER TO PUT THE BUTTER ON YOUR HANDS BEFORE ROLLING IT! or else it will get all over. Overall though the recipie came out really good, but the vanilla flavored taffy was my favorite. Explosive 06/20/2006 at 04:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was the worst taffy ever! It never hardened even when I put it in the freezer.I even tried marshmallows to try to harden it, but it was still as watery as before. It burned all of my pots that I used and practically devastated my stove. Nobody should ever try making these. This is dangerous and I only gave it a one star because it smelled good. Other than that, it doesn't deserve any stars! Very bad! Really good taffy 03/14/2006 at 07:39pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've made this a few times now and its really really good. Its important to boil it for the right amount of time and at the right temperature. Otherwise it comes out too runny or too hard (its also good as hard candy if you mess up). Make sure you have enough people around who are willing to pull the taffy because it must be pulled as soon as possible. |
