I made this Friday night and it was delicious. I did add store-bought chutney. My husband hates curry, but he tried this and said it was very good, even though he would prefer I omitted the curry next time. I may try that but adding dates or raisins and almonds.

i left on the stove, on low for several hours and let the chicken cook until it was falling off the bone. serves as more of a stew with chutney, rice, peas and carrots. so good!

This recipe worked well for me and the flavors were fantastic--my whole family enjoyed it. I must admit that I had to modify the recipe, as I didn't have all the spices called for. But I did have some Patak's curry paste, which I used in place of all the whole spices, and it turned out well (4 tbs. sauteed with the onions). I also added peeled chopped carrots with the water (which I cut back to 1 cup for a more intense flavor) and frozen peas at the very end. A very tasy one dish meal!

I am from the caribbean island of Trinidad and we do not make curry chicken that , it may be tasty ...... since I have never tried it your way ... we like a little more simple taste to our disg
