best ever 09/26/2006 at 04:14pm User: NANCY from bryan, TX User Rating: This is the beat spanish chicken and rice I have ever made and eaten. My family begs for it. Wonderful 09/10/2004 at 04:34pm User: INGRI from Charleston, SC User Rating: Excellent Best Arroz con Pollo! 08/19/2007 at 09:57am User: Pam from Edgewater, NJ User Rating: This recipe was easy, delicious and met with rave reviews from my family. I used only 2 cups of chicken broth since the beer, sherry and other juices appeared to be plenty of liquid (plus the rice soaked for an hour) and it turned out grea - could have even used a little less broth. I also used chicken breast which definitely was a little too dry so I'd use some thigh next time. Awesome! 06/16/2007 at 04:06pm User: MICHELE from Burtonsville, MD User Rating: This was a huge hit. I don't think I changed a thing! ugh 05/27/2008 at 10:12pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Sorry, but I followed the recipe as written and came up with a soupy mess. The rice did not cook well and there was too much fluid. Nothing like the cuban arroz con pollo I was hoping for. high praise 05/21/2004 at 01:04pm User: GAIL from Portland, OR User Rating: I have made this recipe several times and love a love a love it! I am so fond of spanish rice so thought I would try it and was instantly impressed. It is delicious and easy to make. I cannot say enough. Way too gummy! 05/20/2008 at 12:01pm User: Cindy from Tampa, FL User Rating: I made this recipe to exact specifications and though it tasted fine, it was way too gummy in it's consistency. I'll try it again using a long grain rice and perhaps it will work better. The only thing that needs to be fixed on this recipe is the consistency. wonderful 04/13/2007 at 09:07am User: Kathy from Jacksonville, FL User Rating: this was magnifico, took more time than i thought it would, plus i used whole grain brown rice instead of white and i think that caused a problem with the liquid, i ended up taking it out of the oven and poored out most of the liquid left and then boiled on the stove top until all the moisture was gone. i will make this again. Mushy Rice 04/05/2006 at 10:37pm User: Caroline from New York, NY User Rating: It was delicious but my rice came out too soft and mushy and I didn't even touch touch it while cooking.used to I like the rice close to al dente, the way my dad would make it. I will try adding less olive oil and less chicken stock next time. |
