Pumkin Flan 12/03/2006 at 10:58am User: Anonymous User Rating: Pretty good flan...only a bit watery for my taste... Delicious 11/30/2006 at 09:40am User: Lynellen from Dumfries, VA User Rating: The pumpkin flan had the perfect consistency and was delicious. The praline was very hard on the teeth though...hard to bite into...like a very solid piece of candy. So while the praline was very pretty, I wouldnt rate it as edible. Wish they could detail more of sizes 11/24/2007 at 12:23pm User: Lena from Haddonfield, NJ User Rating: I made this and I ended up having leftover for another flan. Size of baking dish not specified. Waiting to see how it tastes. Pumpkin Flan with Pumpkin Seed Praline 11/23/2004 at 08:28am User: KATHY from LaFayette, GA User Rating: This flan is wonderful! It is worth the prep time. sounds good, but turns out dissapointing 11/18/2006 at 09:24am User: Josh from Hickory, NC User Rating: i thought this recipe would be nice for a november birthday. i ran into a lot of problems while preparing it, though. one was that no pan size is specified in the recipe. i ended up using a bowl that was too small, and having lots of custard left over. secondly, the caramel recipe makes way to much for the flan. there was at least an inch of caramel on the bottom of the bowl, even before i added the flan custard. be careful when you put the dish in the oven! trying to swirl molten sugar at temperaturs higher than 300 degrees in a bowl you can't even touch because it's hot from the oven is not an easy task! the recipe also gives no time for beating the eggs and sugar 'until creamy.' i beat mine until silly-string, but i think i had overdone it. lastly, the pumpkin praline adds nothing to the dessert. i served mine on the side, but it's a toothbreaker. i thought it could use more flavor, too. Nice flan 10/23/2006 at 11:15pm User: Marjorie from San Diego, CA User Rating: Great recipe, however, the proper size baking dish would be helpful. Better than Pumpkin Pie 10/17/2005 at 01:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Easy to make! The praline adds a fantastic crunch ... much better than a pie crust. Try it. Delicious Thanksgiving Treat 06/10/2004 at 03:15pm User: DONNA from North Huntingdon, PA User Rating: Superb Taste! Outstanding contrast between smooth flan and crunchy praline Big Hit! 02/08/2005 at 07:18pm User: BRIAN from Hansville, WA User Rating: I've never made a flan before. Recipe easy to follow. Served for dessert after a roast goose & stuffed onion dinner. A big hit! |
