Kinda salty as is. 07/20/2008 at 12:06am User: Ron from San Antonio, TX User Rating: I liked it alot. A little salty for my taste as is. That's easy to remedy though. The given cook times weren't accurate for my oven. Again, easily remedied. I put extra parmesan on the top and broiled it as if I was making Parmesan crisps. It gave it a very good crunch on the top. easy and good 06/14/2008 at 06:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: easy and good Bland 06/10/2007 at 03:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I wasn't thrilled with this, found it to be quite bland. yuck! 06/05/2007 at 08:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: it looked good on tv but it tasted awful! i don't recommend. Nope 04/19/2007 at 11:47pm User: ETHAN from San Jose, CA User Rating: This just didn't do it for me. I found the marinade overpowering and the eggplant itself just didn't seem 'done' enough. Nasty 04/10/2007 at 07:11pm User: Dan from Troy, MI User Rating: This was horrible, We spit it out. Try a different Eggplant for crispiness 09/12/2006 at 08:37pm User: Davilyn from Landers, CA User Rating: For anyone who has a little gardening space try the Casper or Applegreen eggplant. They are tiny - about 4" long and even after cooked and stored are nice and crispy. Also no need to purge with these eggplants. too salty 04/17/2006 at 08:02am User: Anonymous User Rating: I tried this recipe hoping to get a healthy diet option. It turned out it was too salty. I cant say I didnt wash off and squeeze off the salt used for purging but for some reason it still had too much salty taste to it. Just like meat 09/11/2005 at 01:50pm User: LAUREN from south bend, IN User Rating: These were extremely flavorful. Very tender and tasty. A great sustitute for meat in a main course. The cheese added alot of texture and flavor and went very well with the eggplant. even my picky husband ate this! 12/10/2004 at 06:54pm User: CAMILLE from ronkonkoma, NY User Rating: New to broiling and "purging eggplant" this was pretty easy and fast to do! My who husband never even seen an eggplant before ate this right up! Nice change 10/04/2004 at 02:24pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was a nice change of pace from the usual ways I make eggplant. When I first took a bite, I didn't think I liked it. After the second bite, I thought this wasn't bad at all and by the third I realized I did like this. I wish I had been able to get the eggplant a little browner though. tasty 09/15/2004 at 10:54am User: ALLISON from lido beach, NY User Rating: very easy to make and to modify based on the ingredients you have on hand. Very yummy!! 09/11/2004 at 10:40pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very tasty and very easy! Plus I like the fact that everything this recipe calls for will already be in a well stocked pantry, with the exception of the eggplant of course! Alright, nothing to write home about. 08/31/2004 at 01:13am User: BILL from Macomb, MI User Rating: I like eggplant so when I saw this I thought it would really be good. It was alright. I didn't think it possible to do something other than fry, bread, bake and put Italian gravy and cheese on it. Wow! Good flavor 08/14/2004 at 09:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I liked these, but I didn't see the episode and am not sure I did them entirely correct. They taste great, but I wonder if they should have been more on the crisp side. Purging eggplant 08/05/2004 at 11:05am User: Anonymous User Rating: Not Rated Buy smaller or male (no open spot on the bottom) eggplants. Cut into slices and place on a cooling rack over the sink. Sprinkle liberally with salt and sit until it sticks. Flip and repeat letting them sit for 3 hours. Then rinse well with cool water and wring out. yummy and easy! 07/06/2004 at 07:26am User: Anonymous User Rating: i had an eggplant in my fridge and was wondering what to do with it when i saw this show. i made these the next day. my mom and dad are not big fans of eggplant, but i had them try it anyways. they loved it. dad had seconds. it is easy and you could easily change the recipe per your tastes. i added garlic. love alton, love this recipe! |
