Excellent recipe! I don't bother skewering the shrimp, I just put them in a grill pan and serve them with fancy toothpicks, they're a big hit! Emeril's recipes rock....

Excellent Marinate for Shrimps

Absolutely delicious! I also used it to marinate lobster tails. You can cut back on the paprika if you don't want it too hot, but the recipe is superb. You can also use fresh thyme rather than the powder.

I made the shrimp, and they were good, but I think they would of been better with large shrimp. I had medium ones, large would of worked the best. I substituted Black beans with Pinto beans because that's what I had and they turned out terrific!

Excellent and Easy to Make

This was so very easy and fresh tasting. I actually made them into shrimp fajitas, rolling the black bean relish, shrimp, a little sour cream, and cheese into a flour tortilla. It was amazing. Highly recommended! Black bean relish is great alone on tortilla chips. I am planning on serving it as a dip at my next party.

Loved it!!!!

The shrimp was excellent! I also made the black bean relish with it. I wasn't sure if I was to serve it warm or cold...either way it paled in comparison to the shrimp! Thanks!

These are AMAZING! The flavor and spices are so good and totally different from the usual. I didn't make the bean salsa to go with it but I will next time. Also, I'm going to add pineapple to the skewers for the perfect balance of spicy and sweet.

Loved the shrimp! I needed a quick, easy recipe made with ingredients I had on hand and this was just the ticket. Didn't make the relish but I plan on trying it next time. I used the leftover shrimp to make my daughter a quick quesadilla for lunch yesterday and she thought it was the best!! Definitely a keeper.

I give this spicy barbecued shrimp a A because it tastes so good. The only reason I gave it four stars on the ranking is because I didn't make it right.when Emriled cooked it he made it look so good and I bet it was. This my review on the Barbecued shrimp skewers

Hands down my favorite recipe for shrimp. Everyone likes it...if you don't like it too spicy, leave out the jalapeno, it works just as well. I'm going to try it with the pineapple tonight, as one reviewer mentioned.

All the reviewers were right. This was FANTASTIC. I didn't make the black bean relish... just the shrimp skewers. It was hard to image what they would be like from the recipe, and I'm here to tell you that the answer is DIVINE... moist, carmelized but not burned and tasty as all get out. YUM.

Grilled in a grill pan without putting on kabob holders. Worked great! If you use large, barbecue shrimp, extend the cooking time. Check by looking where the back vein was for doneness.

I have to admit that I usually don't like Emeril's recipes but this one got me! It was a HUGE crowd pleaser and I got a bunch of requests for the recipe. It sounds like it would be very spicy but it really wasn't too much even for the delicate palates.

I made both the shrimp and the relish. Not only are the dishes easy to make and taste outstanding, they go great together! What a nice light summer dish. The relish is even better the next day. One recommendation, however, use a little less oil in the bean relish and a little more lime. This will be made again and again! So easy!

We absolutely love these shrimp! We make them as a side with something else grilled (e.g. steak, ribs, etc.). We've given the recipe to friends and family and served them to guests. Every one enjoys them. We haven't tried the black bean relish, however.
