My nineteen year old son made this as a side dish for the family Thanksgiving dinner. (He substituted part Italian sausage and part pork sausage for the lamb sausage.) It was so delicious, that we didn't eat much of anything else! The dish itself is full of flavors, but the sauce is incredible. We plan to make this dish a new family tradition at our dinner celebrations.

This was absolutely fabulous! It took awhile to make but worth it - the sauce was terrific too (note to self, use it over rice in the future). I had some lamd (vs. Sausages) that I ground and used and didn't have any essence so I added a few of the spices in the essence. Will make again (and again and again)

Love this recipe...it is a bit of work though. Try steaming the artichokes and removing the chokes the day before if you have time.

This took a little bit of time getting it all prepped but after I made it my husband was so impressed he started taking pictures of it! It looked that beautiful - and was so yummy!
