I made this dish on Christmas day. It was hit with everybody. My husband suggested I make this meal once a week!!! This is great as leftovers too.

I tried this recipe when my boyfriends family was coming for dinner and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it. The dish contains the perfect amount of spice without being over the top. I had just seen the tail end of the show this dish was on but because the Food Network website is so easy to navigate I not only found the recipe, but found it in only a couple minutes.

A winner!

When I make chili, I always make extra. Chili always seems to be better the second time around, so it's just delicious in this pie. It's a really filling meal and perfect for a wintery Saturday night.

Tamale Pie Vegetarian Style!

I made the tamale pie, substituting the meat with Smart Ground, the soy ground product, and made it for a pot luck at work. People that were vegetarians loved it and want the recipe. A couple of 'men' wouldn't touch it because it was made with 'deadly soy'. But anyway I thought it was great and will make it next for my son and his girlfriend who are vegetarians. A lot of prep work, but it's worth it. I always love Sara's Secrets recipes. I don't have cable and too many trees for satellite, where I live now, so I can't watch the show!

Great mix of flavors

this tasted wonderful. I actually forgot to put the cheese in and it still tasted wonderful and it was a lot healthier. I used Bush's Chili hot beans instead of kidney beans and drained the tomatoes. I will be making this often

family liked it

This was a big hit! Easier to make than it sounds and can have many substitutes if necessary. Loved it!

This recipe is delicous and great if you are feeding a crowd. The chili was good even without the cornbread top. I made it the day before without the cornbread then just added the cornbread and baked the next day. Turned out GREAT!!!

This is a great recipe to make on a Sunday night when you have a little extra time but will have the opportunity to take the leftovers to work on Monday. This dish is even better on the second day because the chili has had time to soak a little better into the meat. A great family dish because it involves vegetables but the overall flavor is meaty, tomatoey and little spicy.
