Easy meal to wow your guests

This recipe was such an easy alternative to the clambakes we usually make! The kilbasa provided an additional smoky layer of flavor, and the leeks also added a certain sweetness. The only change I made was to add a handful of fresh basil, parsley and chives at the end. My guests enjoyed it so much that there were no leftovers, and they even drank all of the broth!

Wow it's a must you try!

This Clambake came out soooooooo, soooooooo good. It was full of flavor, can't wait to make it again. I had to call like 20 markets, and go to four different places to gather up my list but at the end it was well, well worth it!!! two thumbs up...

This is a very tasty and delectable dish! My husband and I really enjoyed how the flavors came together. I only used clams, shrimps, and lobster. This is my first time to cook lobster and I will definitely do it again using this recipe! A must try!

Thank you; thank you; thank you. I made this recipe for the first time and it was absolutely fabulous. The only substitution I made was I used Lobster tails instead of whole lobster, but everything else was exactly as written. It was so easy to make, and the results were terrific. It made such a beauitiful presentation, and the flavors blended together perfectly. Thank you Food network and The barefoot contessa, my guests were truly impressed with such a seafood feast.

A Seaside Seafood Sensation

Ina you are a friend in my mind! I have just returned from LBI, NJ where I was able to spend some quality time down the shore with family. I prepared the much anticipated "Kitchen Clambake" exactly as instructed, with exception of omitting the steamer clams and added (in it's place) an additional dozen littleneck clams. I had also added four large cloves of freshly minced garlic and an additional 1/4 of dry wine! My family thought this was outstanding!! I had also served side dishes of piping hot Bi-color Jersey Corn on the cobb and a homemade Jersey tomatoe salad with aragula. Now for the dessert,(I made the day before)your famous Brownie Tart topped with melted chocolate sauce and also baked a Key Lime Pie, a recipe that I found on the food network from Joe's Stone Crab house. Wow, what a weekend, what a meal & most importantly, what a great tradition to carry on for years to come! Thanks so much Ina for sharing great recipes like these! Hugs, Geri from Fairfield, NJ

Clambake with Elvis

We had a summer birthday bash - made the kitchen clambake and watched Elvis movie, "Clambake." Great memories for the adults, fun introduction for the youngsters. Everyone danced, shimmy and shake, then dove into the incredible clambake. Recipe is easy! Served with sourdough bread and BBQ corn and extra sausages. Next day chopped the potato and leftovers into bite size pieces, added back to the sauce, stirred in half and half - perfect soup. Thanks, Ina! This will become a tradition!

Being Polish I call this a "Polish Clambake"

We have had this meal 4 times since the first time we saw the show. At that date there were no reviews. We made only 1/2 the recipe but found it better than we dreamed. We added one feature. Instead of pouring the broth over everything as suggested, we used the leftover seafood, potatoes and kielbasa and cut it up and put it back into the broth. The next day we added 1 1/2 cups of cream and made the broth into a 'bisque'. Eaten with crusty bread it was as good the second day as it was the first. We served it to my wife's New England relatives who raved about it!

Ina's Kitchen Clambake is by far the best one I've tried. The white wine (instead of water) infuses wonderful flavor into the ingredients. My husband now fantasizes about this meal! Ina continues to make me look like a hero...thanks!

This recipe is wonderful. Made for my supper club, EVERYONE agreed, its great. I would suggest to use mild kielbasa, unless you want the broth to be spicy. Cant wait to make this again.

I was surprise with how easy it was to make this. Everything was cooked perfectly. I'm not too crazy about clams and muscles, so I just added more shrimp and crab. It was a great Fathers Day gift for my Dad this year

My family and I enjoyed this wonderful recipe on the July 4th holiday. It was so easy to make and delicious. We did not use the potatos in the pot because we had potato salad and that worked out just fine.

You know you have something great when all your guests are setting around the table saying OH MY GOD with each and every bite they take. The flavors come together in each ingredient but somehow they still retain their own individual taste. The broth is fantanstic. I didn't even miss the beach.

Put the mussels in a bowl of water and add some flour. Then let sit for a few minutes. Mussels will spit out any sand.

I have done this recipe most every summer at least once for years and I do it in a nesco roaster. I have frequently done this for large parties using 2 nescos and doubling the recipe for each nesco. Summer on our lake wouldn't be the same without a clambake!

My guests RAVED over this meal, which I sort of framed as a midwinter reminder that summer is coming! Served with lemonade, beer or your favorite white wine, you won't go wrong. I sauteed the onions and leeks in the afternoon then piled all the ingredients in the pot (I used my canning pot) just before my guests arrived. While enjoying some drinks and appetizers, I turned on the stove, set the timer and voila! No fuss clambake! The broth was delicious with crusty bread and everyone got so relaxed with using their hands to eat their dinner. I'd cut up brown paper bags to cover my dining table, which everyone found intriguing as soon as they saw it, which was my chance to explain how I wanted to transport us out of the February blahs. I'd only made this one time after seeing Ina make it in Martha's old show, but now it will be an annual tradition!
