Guests were speechless 12/19/2005 at 03:01pm User: SHIRLEY from Amherst, OH User Rating: I volunteered to have our couples club for dinner. Tried this recipe, the smell was awesome. Once guests were seated and served the look on faces was worth all the expense buying scallops. This is absolutely beyond a doubt the most fabulous recipe and will serve it again soon. Thanks quick & very good 12/16/2006 at 05:46pm User: kathi from chicago, IL User Rating: super quick, easy, and excellent! love it 12/08/2004 at 04:37pm User: JAMES from Annandale, VA User Rating: I have made this several times for family and for guests. Everyone loves it So easy and so tasty. An absolute favorite. Awesome 11/25/2004 at 03:52pm User: IRENE from Schaumburg, IL User Rating: This dish was excellent, after taking one bite my husband told me not to bother making the second course cause he could make a meal just from the scallops and artichokes. Great even cold! tantalizing on the tastebuds! 11/10/2004 at 12:19am User: KRISTI from Chicago, IL User Rating: This dish was amazing! It was so easy to make, yet makes an impressive presentation. The combination of artichokes and capers compliments the scallops quite well. I had this dish as a main course, served with parmesean-topped asparagus on the side. easy and elegant 11/05/2004 at 09:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The taste of this dish was out of this worle. So easy to make. We loved it. Already have planned who else I will serve it to! wife loves it 10/26/2004 at 11:21am User: Anonymous User Rating: she told me she expects this meal this week no ifs ands or buts about it. My daughter loves this show and has started helping me in the kitchen. Ive been cooking ever since I was tall enough to stir. I do use a 100 year old biscuit and pie crust recipe handed down by great grandmothers on my wifes side of the family which is also my mom's recipe(figure that). Use Vermouth!! 10/13/2004 at 11:31pm User: JESSICA from yelm, WA User Rating: Super easy, and super quick. This was the first time I had cooked scallops, and now this meal is my husbands favorite!! Went well with a dry martini!! GREAT! 09/22/2005 at 08:12am User: MILENA from Little Neck, NY User Rating: It was excellent. You might want to consider doing it on two pans simultaneously so that the artichokes don't get cold. Bitter! Skip the vermouth & capers & use white wine 07/16/2007 at 09:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I spent a lot of time on this recipe and discovered at the end that it was slightly bitter. I'll try it again and use a dry, white wine instead of vermouth and add only a FEW capers instead of 2 Tablespoons. Great Dish. Easy. 06/27/2005 at 12:31am User: C from Mobile, AL User Rating: This was my first time making scallops, and I wasn't disappointed. This recipe was quick, easy and delicious. It is very elegant and light. Easy and delicious! 06/23/2006 at 05:15pm User: GINA from Miami, FL User Rating: We have made this twice for company already. It comes together so quickly and makes a really nice presentation. Everyone has asked for the recipe. We will make this again and again! Easy and elegant 06/21/2006 at 01:44am User: Anonymous User Rating: Easy, elegant, delish! Really yummy 06/20/2005 at 07:38pm User: LAURA from Ithaca, NY User Rating: I love scallops, this was a great recipe and took only a few minutes to put together. If you don't like capers (which, after many tries, I have decided I do not) you could easily omit them and it would still be delicious. No vermouth at my grocery, I used white wine instead and it turned out awesome. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the capers. Highly recommend this one! 06/19/2004 at 09:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this one for my husband who owns an Italian Restaurant...he said this was just fabulous! Wouldn't change a thing! Very easy to make! OH MY GOD! 06/17/2005 at 10:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: THIS WAS THE BEST..I USED SWEET Vermouth .THAT'S ALL MY GROCERY HAD.. CAME OUT GREAT..MY GUEST LOVED IT,STILL CALLING ME FOR THE RECIPE. SHHH.I DON'T THINK I'M GOING TO TELL THEM THAT IT;S Rachael'S RECIPE. GOOD LUCK I KNOW YOUR'RE LOVE IT P Fabulous flavors 06/16/2005 at 06:33pm User: kate from north fort myers, FL User Rating: This was great for dinner -- and even cold later. Favorite "Special Dinner" Meal 06/02/2004 at 03:09pm User: MARIE from Florence, AZ User Rating: Have made this several times using artichokes and/or white asparagus and prefer the asparagus. Also, can use clam juice in lieu of vermouth. The best scallop recipe! 05/31/2008 at 11:26am User: Beth from Midlothian, VA User Rating: My husband and our guests loved this recipe! One caution, though. You must dry the scallops in order to get a good sear on them. I served them over a little nest of linguine, dressed with garlic and olive oil, as one of the reviewers had suggested and it was delicious! YUMMY 05/08/2006 at 08:33pm User: BETH from Schwenksville, PA User Rating: We loved the tang of the artichoke hearts and the vermouth with the creamy sweetness of the scallops. I served it over a little nest of linguine dressed with just a little olive oil, salt and garlic. I've made it twice, and it's just a hit in this house. Brava, Rachael! delicious and easy 04/09/2006 at 12:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The sea scallops and vermouth were delicious...Served them as the entree and will make over and over again..I think those that did not rate this well must not like vermouth or artichokes. Fun to fix with guests in the kitchen! 03/25/2005 at 09:49pm User: SHARON from Elkhorn, NE User Rating: So fast and so easy...I later used my Le Creuset Buffet Casserole and let it all "finish" as I placed it on the table........even though this is a great dish served cold...it's fun to serve it piping hot...guests just have to follow their noses to the table! Good 03/24/2006 at 05:24pm User: Katie from Robbinsdale, MN User Rating: Made this as an entree for dinner, it was good although I should have had something to accompany it, it got to be too much of a good thing. Easy but very bland 03/09/2006 at 02:55am User: Anonymous User Rating: This was so quick and easy, but it was bland and missing something. tasted pickled 03/06/2006 at 04:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The blend of vermouth, capers, and artichoke hearts overpowered the scallops and gave it a pickled taste. Could I get my $40 for 4 lbs of scallops refunded? They were inedible. Out of this world!! 03/04/2006 at 05:41pm User: Marie from Loudon, NH User Rating: We think this recipe is AWSOME!! The combination of the artichoke and capers brings the flavor of the scallops to a new level! We will be enjoying this one many, many, many more times! My hat is off to you Rachel! Needs some work 03/03/2006 at 08:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I tried this because it looked so easy and quick. I am disappointed, though. Something is missing and it needs some work. Scalllop Vermouth to die for 02/25/2007 at 12:27pm User: kim from Washington, IL User Rating: oustanding flavor and scallops were tender and spices were just right. Fab, fast, and a favorite 02/22/2006 at 09:11pm User: Elizabeth from New London, CT User Rating: Hi all: Everyone should be as lucky as I am and have FRESHLY caught sea scallops from Stonington Bay (CT) to prepare this dish! We loved every bite and bit. If the capers scare anyone, just pop them in a minute before taking off the "chokes" and they will mellow. Also, didn't have parsley so I used the fresh tarragon I had handy and I think I like it better than having regular ol' parsley. It was wonderful!! Great combination of flavors 02/21/2007 at 10:23pm User: Carolyn from Slingerlands, NY User Rating: Easy, easy and delicious, delicious. Searing the scallops is key to this recipe. Fabulous and Easy 02/05/2008 at 10:20pm User: Elaine from York, PA User Rating: I made this with White Asparagus as suggested by another review because we too are not artichoke fans. LOVED IT!! What an easy and absolutely delicious dish. Need a suggestion for a starch to go with it. sea scallops with vermouth 01/06/2005 at 11:13am User: CHUCK from Punta Gorda, FL User Rating: We leave out the artichakes and it is very very good served with fetuchini alfredo scallops 01/01/2005 at 09:49am User: Anonymous User Rating: very easy to make. They took longer than 4 min. to cook. The sauce that it makes is gteat with crusty bread. We loved this ricipe and will make it again. |
