This recipe was a family hit. It was so easy to prepare yet tastes as if it took hours to make. I like to make a double batch of the sauce so we can have leftovers.

My husband actually enjoyed it!!

If you guys knew my husband, you'd appreciate the hugeness of this accolade! I served this to my hubby and my parents and they were really impressed. My husband doesn't like pasta that isn't noodles and sauce with meat, or even veggies (he freaked when he realized there were carrots in the sauce), but this dish was very very very well recieved.. I added a splash of wostershire to beef it up a tiny bit.

Sooooo Easy!

I hate cooking and usually end up never making it right. But this was easy and good. Instead of the ground veil I accidentily bought veil slices which worked out just as good.

Wonderful!

I make this dish ALL the time, both for week night dinners and for company because it is such a hit. Great depth to the flavors. I often use a couple of dollops of homemade (frozen) pesto instead of basil, especially in the winter. It's easy, easy, and delicious.

Amazingly good!

Definitely a keeper -- and one of Rachel's best. I didn't have crushed tomatoes, so I used a can of petite diced, about 2 T of tomato paste, and Riesling. Instead of campannelle, I used whole wheat twists, and I can't imagine it any other way. I will be making this again and again. Thanks, Rach!

One of my favorites.

This sauce is so easy and so tasty. The campanelle is the perfect noodle for this dish.

Not much flavor

I didn't have veal on hand and used ground turkey instead. I also added some peas at the end, and the dish was so good. I think the carrots and peas give the sweetness of the sauce. I will definitely make it again, it works with any kind of ground meat i have on hand.

Awesome

This was a great recipe. My family ate seconds (and thirds but we won't talk about that!). I made it today with veal (cut up for stew) cubes and simmered it for 2 hours or so. I then shredded the veal cubes into the sauce....delicious if you like the real meat "ragu". The flavor is fabulous. Used dried basil today as I didn't have fresh and it was just as delicious. Today I used lined ziti for the pasta and again, it was just great.

Great Sauce!

The flavours in this dish are wonderful. I also love how quick and easy it was to prepare, not to mention, I already had all the ingredients I needed on hand. I did make two changes, I added a can of cannellini beans and used farfalle (my grocer does not carry campanelle). Thanks Rachel!

This was very good and I am not normally a veal eater. I simmered it a little longer and added more garlic.

I made this in the summer and I'm telling you this was so delicious, I wanted to take a bath in it! I don't want to spoil my friends and family so I don't make it too often, but I am making it again this weekend, for the girls!

I have been making this for a couple of years now, and my picky boys take huge portions, and eat it all. They love it and I am happy that they are getting some veggies in their diet. Since my boys have a huge aversion to onions, I puree the onions and carrots in a food processor first to make a paste. No large bits, but all the flavor, and cook as directed. Go Rachel - I love your recipes.
