Great Side Dish! 02/13/2005 at 10:24am User: Anonymous User Rating: O.k., so I messed up and bought the precooked wild rice packet by accident! But I went with it. I had planned to expand this recipe to be a side dish for my family. Since the precooked rice only had 2.5 gr. fat per 1/2 c. serving, I wasn't concerned. I mixed it with a large amount of broccoli and 1/8 c. of Parmesan, and it was very good. Really. I left out the soy. Since this was designed to be something easy a kid could mix up after school, the pre-cooked rice, used in moderation, would be a great short cut. It had salt and other seasonings, so they should not be added. It is still much healthier than the frozen rice bowls. A great easy idea, thanks Kathleen. I love the show, by the way! Good 01/19/2005 at 05:00pm User: RACHEL from Columbus, OH User Rating: It was more of a broccoli with rice accents. Good if you want it as just veggies. Next time I make it, I'm going to add more rice. Super quick and easy though! |
