YUM YUM 11/11/2005 at 03:48pm User: HEATHER from Austin, TX User Rating: That's some good stuff! Incredible recipe! 10/20/2006 at 12:55am User: Jack from Gatesville, TX User Rating: I used tilapia and olive oil in place of canola oil - incredible! I also had whole wheat tortillas and made a creamy sauce with the salsa and some fat-free sour cream. I mixed the brown rice with the fish, added the sauce, and there ya' go! OK, so I'm on a bit of a health kick and changed a bunch of it; however, it is truly incredible! Can't beat this - I'm done searching for a fish taco recipe! perfect fish tacos 10/09/2006 at 02:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I make this recipe almost every week. It's easy to make and tastes as good as tacos from any beach bar in California. Awesome 10/08/2006 at 09:26am User: Jenelle from Arlington, VA User Rating: My guests loved them! AMAZING! 09/23/2006 at 09:55am User: PAULA from Campton, NH User Rating: This was the first time I ever had fish tacos and they were amazing! My partner loves fish tacos (had them in restaurants in California) and swears these are quite possible better! Beware THOUGH there is a flaw in the recipe...for the salsa it never lists "lime juice" in the ingredients for it but it instructs you to add it when making the salsa. I went ahead and added the juice of a whole lime and it was perfect! Make sure not to substitute any of the salsa ingredients or I could see where it would not be as good...Enjoy, I know I will be again and again with this recipe! Yummy 09/17/2004 at 09:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It is so worth the effort and time (sooooo good) Great Summer meal 09/15/2004 at 11:17am User: Anonymous User Rating: This is a nice light meal. Served with his Fruit Sangria fish taco's review 09/11/2006 at 08:27pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I used Mahi Mahi, and I think I needed to cook it for another minute or two, as it was a bit greasy. Otherwise, a great easy recipe. Marinade 09/09/2006 at 08:08pm User: Tom from Villa Rica, GA User Rating: Only made the marinade but it was great. Easy and cooked well on the grill. Gave the fish (Mahi-mahi) a great flavor whil not being too overbearing Rock'n Flavor Fish Tacos 09/08/2006 at 12:32am User: Anonymous User Rating: Taste: The flavor of the Pureed Tomato Salsa is just perfect; the marinade has a great southwestern flavor. Preparation: Easy with basic kitchen tools. Presentation: Very nice. Placing the cabbage (both white and red) on opposite ends of a large serving plate with red onion, green onions and cilantro in between made for a attractive plate. With the sides of Pureed Tomato Salsa and Mexican Crema made the table "pop" with color. General: This is the first time that I have tried a chef Bobby Flay recipe and I am delighted. This is the most pleased I have been with a "first-time-tried" recipe. My family was also impressed. They may not ever let me go back to hamburger based tacos! I encourage anyone who likes healthy Southwestern or TexMex food to put this recipe in their basic stable of recipes. This is also a recipe that I will have fun with by trying different fish and peppers. yummy! 09/08/2004 at 10:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Loved these taco's and the salsa. We added a little cheese in the taco's and made the salsa the day before to enhance the flavors. The Best! 09/05/2006 at 04:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Wonderful recipe. Full of flavor and easy to make. Sure to become a family favorite. Excellent 08/29/2007 at 04:23pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Perfect in every way! yummers!! 08/28/2006 at 08:35pm User: Melissa from Escondido, CA User Rating: Thanks Bobby!! This recipe rules!! Fish Fantastic 08/27/2006 at 12:24pm User: Myra from Austin, TX User Rating: I make this every time my husband brings fresh mahi back from the coast. It is great! Easy and Very Tasty 08/18/2007 at 03:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was a big hit in our house. I opted to top the tacos with a cilantro cream sauce instead of just hot sauce and the family loved them. We will definately be making them again. nothing special 08/16/2004 at 11:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: these were ok, but nothing special. don't use an expensive fish, not worth it. Light and so tasty! 08/15/2007 at 06:16pm User: Alicia from Queen Creek, AZ User Rating: We haven't tried the salso recipe but the fish tacos are fabulous! Very light, just perfect for a summer meal. Sooo gooood! 08/08/2005 at 10:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was easy and really good. We pulled this fish out of the water the same day we had the fish tacos...Bobby you are the best! muy delicioso 08/05/2007 at 10:15pm User: Laura from West Cajon Valley, CA User Rating: Great tacos and easy to prepare. A real keeper. I did make a green tomatillo and avocado salsa along with the tomato one and preferred the former. But that's just me. We had been looking for a fish taco recipe that didn't call for breaded fish. this is it! Thanks Bobby. Average dish but great fish! 08/04/2006 at 10:45pm User: Robin from Rockford, IL User Rating: The whole dish really was fine, but nothing outstanding. The fish, however, taken by itself was wonderful. It was flavorful, incredibly moist and exceptionally easy to make. Next time I'll skip the taco accompaniments and just serve the halibut. easy & delicious 08/03/2005 at 01:24am User: Tina from CHANDLER, AZ User Rating: I actually baked the fish and it turned out great. Grilling would definitely add to the many flavors off this recipe. Great and simple 08/01/2006 at 07:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Made this for a summer party and it was a HUGE hit. Have made over and over again. don't bother 07/24/2006 at 08:22pm User: Leigh Anne from Redondo Beach, CA User Rating: The fish was ok, but not remarkable and we really disliked the salsa. Maybe we just like fresh salsas, but I had to throw out about a cup and a half of uneaten salsa. It was way too sweet (the onion I guess) and thoroughly blah. Sorry Bobby- they can't all be winners. Great marinade for Mahi Mahi 07/22/2007 at 11:51am User: Anonymous User Rating: We used a different sauce, but the fish marinade was so yummy! Use corn tortillas 07/18/2006 at 12:20pm User: SHARI from Marietta, GA User Rating: This recipe was great. As with all tacos, these are better with corn tortillas, though, instead of tasteless flour ones. I like them soft-fried in oil, just a quick turn on either side to soften them. Drain on paper towels. Or use hard ones, but only homemade. Don't ruin it with the yucky store-bought ones. Fish Tacos 07/04/2005 at 11:44am User: Paul from Saint Louis, MO User Rating: My family loved these tacos. They are amazing. They are so delicious, and yet, easy to prepare. This recipe is now one of my favorites. The fish was tasty and succulent. The salsa was quick and very easy to prepare and loaded with fresh flavor which went so well with the fish and other ingredients. Even though the salsa had the ancho powder, jalapeno and serano, plus the chipotle hot sauce it came out surprizingly mild, and since I like my salsa spicier, I simply chopped up some fresh habeneros as a garnish. But that is me. A little squeeze of lime when building your taco gives a little extra tangy great fresh flavor. excellent 06/30/2006 at 11:04pm User: darlene from Glendale, CA User Rating: very good Great spices but not too hot! 06/25/2006 at 05:57pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great blend of spices in the marinate and the salsa recipe. We've made it again and again. TACOS GOOD, SALSA NOT SO GOOD 06/25/2006 at 12:24am User: Anonymous User Rating: The fish tacos are basic, fresh and good, as are the suggested toppings. However, the salsa was very bland (unusual for Bobby!) and really not worth the time and effort. I would make fish tacos again, but either buy or make a different salsa (maybe a different Bobby recipe as he has many good ones). Fish Tacos 06/23/2006 at 03:10pm User: Mark from San Jose, CA User Rating: Excellent!!!!! Pretty good 06/20/2006 at 07:32pm User: Robert from Cambridge, MA User Rating: I wasn't a fan of the canola oil. I thought it made the fish kind of greasy for being grilled. The recipe itself was not too flavorful, so I had to change it up a bit. Yummy 06/05/2006 at 08:52pm User: DIANE from Yorktown Heights, NY User Rating: Quick marinade, really easy recipe, great pay off! I grilled the fish outside like Bobby did, really makes a difference. Also added lemon balm and mint to the cilantro garnish, which really livened things up. This is a great, easy, tastey recipe! a favorite! 06/04/2004 at 05:44pm User: AMY from minneapolis, MN User Rating: We have made these several times because this has become a favorite recipe. Super easy and quick for a weeknight dinner. We did substiture talapia for the mahi mahi and it is even better! Don't forget to grill the tortillas...it really adds to the dish. appealing 05/31/2004 at 02:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: this i'm trying ASAP Fish Tacos - Bobby Flay 05/29/2006 at 05:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was excellent! Very simple to make yet bursting with flavor. Delicious and Easy 05/28/2008 at 07:05pm User: Sara from Roseville, MN User Rating: These tacos were great...even my young kids ate them (I left out the jalapeno so it wouldn't be too hot for them) Great California taste... 05/27/2004 at 01:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The flavor of the ancho is what my version of fish taco has been missing. This is a great and easy recipe that had my guests asking for more. Thanks Bobby. Terrific Tacos 05/26/2005 at 07:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Just made them for a dinner party, they were such a hit, I'm making them again for a weekend Baja Style BBQ. 05/22/2004 at 10:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Fantastic 05/18/2008 at 07:16pm User: Laura from Brighton, MA User Rating: I still haven't found a Bobby Flay recipe that hasn't come out wonderful. Great. eh, ok 05/11/2008 at 11:02am User: Nisha from Rochester, MN User Rating: I was encouraged by all the rave reviews...but these fish tacos were just ok. They take way too much time, and involve way too many steps. The tomoato puree salsa is good, even if you don't puree at the very end (I was just tired of all the steps by then) Outstanding 05/07/2006 at 07:36pm User: KAITLIN from Jacksonville, FL User Rating: Very good, simple, and healthy. I made a fresh pico de gallo instead of Bobby's grilled salsa. Will definitely make again. Good & Easy 05/04/2006 at 09:13pm User: JUDI from Stillwater, MN User Rating: A very quick and simple recipe. It had a nice, subtle touch of heat that did not overpower the fish. Unable to grill, I baked the fish at 5oo* for 10 minutes. Came out great. Yummy! 04/27/2008 at 11:10am User: Anonymous User Rating: We used Halibut and these tacos were awesome. The marinade is perfect, and I loved that these fish tacos weren't all fried and greasy. We live in San Diego and have access to lots of good fish tacos but these were way better than most all I have had. Served with all the standard garnish ( cabbage is a MUST) and made a avocado crema as well. Did homemade salsa fresca rather then the salsa in the recipe. Bobby rules. Not Bad 04/26/2007 at 02:50pm User: Bicentennial from Broomfield, CO User Rating: Quite tasty for such a healthy food. I used low-fat flour tortillas and lite sour cream, and made a salsa verde instead of tomato salsa. Simple and sublime 04/21/2008 at 02:37pm User: null from null, null User Rating: This is a standard for our family and friends through the summer months. I first made this meal about 2-3 years ago, after seeing Bobby make it on Boy Meets Grill. i made it that afternoon for an impromptu party and it was a huge hit. I have to laugh at the woman who said her family didnt like the salsa because they prefer "fresh" salsa. This salsa doesn't get any fresher, so maybe she meant "raw" since it is cooked?? Delicious! 04/11/2008 at 06:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Hands down this is one of the best recipes I've made in a long time! Be forewarned that there is quite a bit of prepping required, so it isn't a quick weeknight meal. But it is worth it and you won't be disappointed. The fish tacos with homemade salsa (a must) are bursting with heat and flavor. Simply delicious. A Fast, Easy staple 04/07/2008 at 12:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We have these tacos at least once every two weeks. Bobby got this one right... even my picky kid loves them. They go together in about a half an hour, so they're a really good last minute meal, and I get to grill them outside, so even better!!! Yummy tacos!!!! 04/01/2008 at 05:15pm User: Carol from Palmdale, CA User Rating: Bobby, these are the greatest fish tacos I have ever tasted!! Keep 'em comin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Hit! 03/17/2008 at 09:34am User: Jamie from St Louis, MO User Rating: Easy and big hit with my crowd! I used Maui Maui I had in the freezer and didn't know what to do with. I only used the marinade part of the recipe- it was fabulous! Our Family Favorite 03/07/2008 at 09:23am User: j from great falls, MT User Rating: This has become the family favorite and most requested recipe by my 3 college boys. The flavor is incredible and the recipe so easy they can make it for themselves and their significant others now. Do not skip the salsa and grilling the tortilla shells is key to the great flavor. simply delicious 02/22/2007 at 12:12pm User: robin from Portland, OR User Rating: This was easy to make & delicious. Something fun & different. I used the leftover salsa as an enchilada sauce the next night & would do it again. GREAT TACOS 02/20/2006 at 01:12pm User: tammy from las vegas, NV User Rating: EXCELLENT FISH TACO RECIPE.... LIGHT FARE AND EASY TO MAKE... WE'VE USED CORN TORTILLAS AND FLOUR, BOTH GREAT.... EVEN BETTER WITH A FEW MAGGIES WITH CABO WABO TEQUILLA... Nice diversion from chicken or beef 02/17/2005 at 03:15pm User: JEFF from Ypsilanti, MI User Rating: Easy recipe - I've substited tilapia or whitefish when mahi mahi was not available. Better than good 02/03/2007 at 08:59am User: Richard from Holmes Beach, FL User Rating: Very easy to prepare. I prepared this for several friends and family members. They couldn't get enough. |
