Simple Salmon Cakes 12/22/2005 at 03:58pm User: joe from ;exington, NC User Rating: Easy - fresh salmon a plus Wow....best salmon I have ever made. 12/16/2007 at 11:34pm User: Manila from Marietta, GA User Rating: This turned out wonderfully. I will definitely be making this again. Takes a little bit of time but worth every minute of it. Now a salmon lover! 11/20/2004 at 02:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was a great recipe! My husband and I are just beginning to eat fish and this recipe is definitely a keeper!!!! Great but a tad dry with out the sauce from bok choy 11/01/2006 at 05:54pm User: Jennifer from Chantilly, VA User Rating: This was excellent. I didn't make the bok choy with it since I didn't have any at the house. I thought it was a little dry without the sauce that your suppose to put over it. Overall, I'll probably make it again but with bok choy to see if there is a difference. WONDERFUL!! 10/02/2004 at 04:40pm User: WENDY from Prosser, WA User Rating: Being from the Northwest, my husband and I love Salmon. I'm always looking for different & unique ways of cooking Salmon and this certainly passed the test! My husband raved about how it looked (said it turned out just like it did on Tyler's show) and how it tasted. He loved it and so did I. I passed the recipe on to my mother, who also enjoyed it. It's a simple recipe and doesn't take much time in the kitchen, which is always a plus for us. We've made Salmon patties out of canned salmon, but found them to be so bland and unattractive...so when we saw that Tyler was making Salmon Cakes a different way, we just had to watch. Thanks Tyler, this will be a treasured recipe for years to come! FABULOUS!!! 09/28/2004 at 04:15pm User: MICHELLE from MINNEAPOLIS, MN User Rating: This recipe is great! Thanks Tyler!!! I broil the cakes rather than pan fry and sub panko for the regular breadcrumbs. I am not a salmon fan but I love these! Wow 09/10/2004 at 04:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This dish is awesome. I made them for a luncheon (I doubled the recipe), and the patties were gone in a flash. Everyone wanted the recipe. Thank you! Very Tasty! 08/24/2005 at 07:45am User: April from Chesapeaked, VA User Rating: I've been looking for a new way to prepare salmon other than the usual grilling and putting it with some type of sauce - so when I saw Tyler's show on salmon, I was intrigued. I made the salmon cakes with little difficulty and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon and sauce flavors. My husband thought the presentation of the dish was excellent and it was just so simple. Great recipe! Great 08/23/2005 at 02:18pm User: Martha from Acworth, GA User Rating: My family and I enjoyed the salmon cakes and my husband thought the sauce was excellant. I find when making any kind of seafood cake its best to refrigerate the cakes after preparing for at least 3-6 hours, this helps the flavors to marry and to keep them from crumbling. I also added a 1/4 cup of parmesan for extra taste. yummy 08/15/2006 at 10:15am User: Anonymous User Rating: The flavor of the salmon cake was great! I did have a little trouble keeping all my salmon cakes intact, maybe i should try baking it next time. I'm not so sure about the sauce that goes w/ the bok choy.. it was too salty for me and I didn't really use it. Fab!!!!! 07/18/2006 at 08:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I am an American living in Hong Kong...We don't get the Food TV there, but saw this in the States while on vacation. This was great!!!!!! Simple flavors that let the Salmon shine I Used a Shortcut, Too... 07/14/2004 at 01:27pm User: C from Riverview, FL User Rating: Believe it or not, using the premium salmon packaged in a pouch worked for me in a pinch! We loved this recipe, and we also can now eat salmon with something besides lemon pepper. The cilantro was a different touch and extra leaves made a pretty garnish. We love this guy's recipes. Loved it! 07/09/2007 at 05:59pm User: Amy from Plano, TX User Rating: And I don't even like seafood, but my husband had bought salmon and I had to find something to make with it that I would actually eat. This was soooo good! The cakes would be good on their own, but were fabulous with the bok choy and the sauce. Time consuming, but well worth it. No more lemon-peppered salmon! 07/05/2004 at 04:48pm User: CHARIS from San Jose, CA User Rating: Every time my mom buys salmon, we always cooked it with lemon pepper and it got really boring. So, I tried this recipe on them for a change and everyone loved it! It was sooo easy to make and I had fun too! very good! 06/23/2004 at 09:40am User: JAMIE from houston, TX User Rating: This recipe was wonderful! It was really simple as well, so I don't know why it was listed as 'medium' difficulty. I did one short cut - I heated up some "Veri Veri Teriyaki" sauce by Soy Vay which has a lot of ginger and toasted sesame seeds in it, and it was a great compliment. Excellent recipe for Salmon cakes 06/07/2004 at 12:16am User: PATTY from Mountlake Terrace , WA User Rating: Sundays are my day to fix new recipes and I decided to fix this recipe today. My husband loved them as did I. This recipe is for sure a winner if you love salmon. The idea of using fresh salmon is what caught my eye, I used King salmon. I am from the Pacific Northwest and love salmon. The recipe is not hard to make and well worth trying. The sauce brings it all together. I would like to thank Tyler for sharing such a great recipe. I will definetly make this again. Wonderful 06/05/2007 at 08:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Lots of chopping... but well worth it! Great salmon cakes! 06/05/2006 at 03:11pm User: Tatjana from Wilmette, IL User Rating: I have a son who hates fish, but loves these cakes. I am requested by the whole family to make them for every get together. Tyler is always right 05/21/2005 at 03:47am User: butter from San Diego, CA User Rating: I tried this recipe because a nice piece of whole salmon was on sale today. I love the texture of this recipe. It looks almost too soft before cooking and it turned out perfect after frying. Infusing garlic / ginger / shallots in oil was a great idea. I think I can create a lot of variation with this! Tyler, you are always right! Amazing 05/18/2007 at 03:48pm User: Kate from new York, NY User Rating: This recipe is amazing and pretty easy to make. My husband wants to have it every night. Great with the fresh salmon. 05/17/2005 at 04:13pm User: SHELLY from Frisco, TX User Rating: I too was looking for something different to do with salmon and I saw this show recently. Since I couldn't fine any bok choy at my local mega mart, I substituted frozen broccoli crowns and it worked out great. The salmon cakes were abit bland, but I really enjoyed the sauce. I made some sushi rice to go with this. Good way to change things up. Thanks Tyler! wow 04/27/2007 at 02:40pm User: Rebecca from Flagstaff, AZ User Rating: I only made the bok choy and boy was it delicious. I added julieenned carrots and mung bean sprouts, ate it ove jasmine rice. It was great, even my 3 kids ate it. Simplified & Delcious 04/26/2006 at 08:28am User: Mary from Merritt Island, FL User Rating: I used canned salmon and it worked beautifully. I replaced the pepper with a few shakes of dried red peppers and it was just right. We are looking for ways to add fish to our diet and this is an easy receipe I would recommend. WOW 04/12/2008 at 10:47pm User: JANE from Denver, CO User Rating: This was so easy and so good. If you make crab cakes, this is even better and much less expensive. I thought 4 minutes on each side would work - It does. This is a real keeper! Family pleaser 04/04/2006 at 10:46am User: Anonymous User Rating: My family loves salmon and I wanted to try something a little different. Great blend of flavors, I didn't even make the sauce just enjoyed the salmon cakes. Takes a little time but well worth the effort. Dorin 03/25/2005 at 09:49am User: Anonymous User Rating: I love salmon and I was getting sick of making same receipe. So, I thought I would give it a try. It was very bland. My husband thought it was okay. I would not make it again, waste of time. But if you are not very particular about your fish being juicy and little bland, go ahead. It's an easy receipe. Wonderful 03/13/2006 at 08:56am User: Patricia from Tampa, FL User Rating: Great blend of flavors. Salmon is a strong flavored fish and many either like it or don't like it. The flavors blend to make salmon paletable to all. salmon cakes 02/13/2005 at 03:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: the salmon cakes turned out great, but the sauce is a different story, next time i will try to match a different sauce to it.
