My husband is a dessert lover and he ate 2 at one sitting and another with his bedtime cup of tea. Thanks for easy-to-do recipes. Slap Yo Momma Good! 07/22/2004 at 12:06pm User: CATHY from neptune beach, FL User Rating: This recipe is incredible. Not only is it easy to make, the taste is out of this world delicious. The almond extract adds flavor and aroma to the shortcakes. The shortcakes can stand alone on their flavor. The peaches are the crowning glory. As usual, Paula has outdone herself yet again. You go girl! Good and Sweet 07/05/2006 at 03:02pm User: LAURA from Henderson, NV User Rating: This is so easy, simple and delish! It is very, very sweet. I would make this again, next time I think I would cut back just a bit on the sugar in the peaches and the whipped cream. Very good. 06/19/2007 at 06:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It is a great combination of flavors. It tastes so good. Yummmmmy 06/14/2004 at 11:48pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have tried many shortcake recipes through the years...this is the best! It is moist and has just the right amount of sweetness. Great with strawberries too. Just like mom's 06/03/2008 at 06:49pm User: Carol from Pittsburgh, PA User Rating: This is the way I learned to make fruit shortcake, but using a homemade biscuit recipe. Using a biscuit mix is much faster; however, I too find it way too salty for sweet baked goods. Try using Jiffy brand mix. It's sodium content is much lower (check the label) and the results are just as good. For anyone who doesn 't like almond extract, try using some fresh citrus zest. loved it! 05/31/2008 at 12:55am User: diana from thousand oaks, CA User Rating: Great! I changed the milk to vanilla rice dreams, added vanilla instead of almond,Trader Joe's bicquit mix instead of Bisquick(for the shortcake)and used strawberry's instead of other fruit. It was beautiful and delicious!!! After all these years I found a good shortcake receipe:) The Best I Have Had 05/10/2005 at 02:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was so good. Very good with Strawberrys too. The Cheaper Way 03/28/2007 at 08:28am User: Jason from Nitro, WV User Rating: I was pressed for time. So I took the idea and used the flakey style Grand Biscuits and a can of peaches in light syrup. I warmed the peaches and added some cinnamon. I added vanilla ice cream and drizzled the peach cinnamon syrup over the ice cream. Following the recipe may taste better but I thought this way was yummy. simple and fabulous!!! 03/22/2007 at 11:37am User: Anonymous User Rating: The biscuit is so flavorful it could be eaten on it's own. I made this with strawberries instead of the peaches. It was a fast and delicious dessert! Wonderful 02/25/2006 at 05:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is wonderful! You should really try this!Great treat for your family! breakfast 01/28/2007 at 03:46pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It wasn't what I expected. The shortcake came out a bit saltier than I had hoped. Maybe because I left out the almond flavoring? |
