Not the best, but not bad 07/20/2008 at 12:52pm User: JENNIFER from San Diego, CA User Rating: Not as tough as I expected from a batter whisked smooth, but not light and fluffy, either. The flavor was very mild, the ground pecans gave the whole batter a slightly nutty flavor. I added only two eggs, per other comments, and there was not a strong egg taste in doing so. Expect bananas to be mushy...that's just what happens when they are cooked that way. Yummy! 07/01/2008 at 12:18am User: Anonymous User Rating: This was my first time making pancakes...ever! These were delicious...my husband and kids loved them. I will definatley make these again! Great pancakes 05/01/2008 at 09:32pm User: george from Clever, MO User Rating: I make these all the time. Try mashing 1 large or 2 small bananas into the mix. It's quicker, gives more flavor and does not leave banana stuck on the griddle. best banana/pecan pancakes 04/26/2008 at 11:32am User: grace from canyon country, CA User Rating: lite, easy and best tasting start to your morning... The BEST 04/06/2008 at 12:24am User: Anonymous User Rating: We have never eaten such tasty pancakes!! Thank you for the recipe good 03/09/2008 at 01:59pm User: shellie from theodore, AL User Rating: good good pancake recipe 12/08/2007 at 02:14pm User: Felecia from Fairview Heights, IL User Rating: I made these for breakfast this morning and they were good. The only problem was that they had an egg taste to them. The texture was great and they looked wonderful. I just don't like eggs very much. I will definately make them again. The next time I make them I will only use two eggs. Best Pancakes Ever 10/27/2007 at 10:25pm User: Michelle from Holt, MI User Rating: This is hands down the best pancake recipe I have ever tried. Everyone loves it. I sometimes just mash two bananas into the batter when I'm too lazy to cut them. The plain batter is good as well without the bananas and pecans. I have also used the batter for Apple Walnut Pancakes and Blueberry. A hit every time, but by far the banana are the best. So Light & Tasty !! 09/29/2007 at 03:42pm User: Mary from Irvine, CA User Rating: I chose to not make the butter b/c of other reviewers comments & just used syrup on the top b/c I don't like things too sweet. I also used 1/2 whole wheat flour & 1/2 white flour which gave it a heartier flavor & texture (plus more fiber). I chose to use only 2 bananas b/c I didnt want the batter to make a "mushy" pancake. I sprinkled toasted slivered almonds since that's what I had on hand. For those who only have baking soda & no power... I used about 2- 2 1/2 tsp of soda & they were still light and fluffy. My Fiancee & I call this "Monkey's Favorite Breakfast!!" & give it 5 Stars. Forever using this recipe! 08/31/2007 at 07:51pm User: Esmeralda from Orlando, FL User Rating: I looooved this recipe. What's more, my little four year old loved it the most... and he's a harsh judge when it come to his favorite breakfast meal, pancakes! The only thing I changed was to lessen the amount of sugar (I used 2 teaspoons). I made two batches, with and without pecans, and they were delicious! Moist, fluffy, flavorful...perfect! Best Ever 08/27/2007 at 12:50pm User: Beth from Indianapolis, IN User Rating: These pancakes were the best pancakes that I have ever had. I made some with the banana and some without. I will no longer buy boxed pancake mixes. The maple butter made too much, but it is great on toasted english muffins through the week. Banana Pancakes 08/22/2007 at 07:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made them because 'Banana Pancakes' by Jack Johnson is one of my favorite songs (and because I love pancakes!). They turned out spectacular and I ended up making many more for Mother's day with my little sisters. awesome! 08/15/2007 at 12:31pm User: Anonymous User Rating: awesome! B&B Quality 07/29/2007 at 08:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Absolutely delicious - very easy to wow guests with these pancakes! too eggy 07/26/2007 at 05:45pm User: brandie from st. louis, MO User Rating: Tyler is awesome. I love his show, everything he makes looks amazing and I have made some of his recipes before. But I didn't care for this one. I love pancakes. I make them all the time and I am always trying new recipes, and these just didn't do it for me. I thought the pancakes had an overpowering egg flavor, like an omelet almost. I cooked them perfectly, they looked beautifully golden brown when I plated them, but I was very disappointed in the flavor. All I tasted was egg (I have never came across this problem before). I thought about substituting an egg or two with applesauce, but I usually don't make substitutions the first time I try a recipe. I wish I would have now, very disappointing. Sorry Tyler, but I still love you! Delicious Breakfast idea 07/17/2007 at 10:57am User: Christina from Cincinnati, OH User Rating: loved this recipe, easy to make for the five of us, and delicious as well. banana pancakes 06/19/2007 at 12:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I thought the bananas made the texture too mushy. Other than that, they were just ok...not outstanding Sweet and Wonderful 04/24/2007 at 12:42pm User: Shannon from Milpitas, CA User Rating: I made these for one of the pickiest people I know...my hubby! He loved them and for two people they make a lot...(but we ate them all anyway.) The buter is great so you don't really need to add anymore syrup. LOVE IT 03/01/2007 at 09:40pm User: Brittany from Miami, FL User Rating: One of the best pancakes I've ever had. THE BEST 12/18/2006 at 09:48pm User: MANDA from Whiteman AFB, MO User Rating: these are by far the best pancakes i have ever had in my life. i dont care for bananas, so i left that out. the toasted pecan flavor is amazing. a real treat. Great! The recipe really explaned things 06/15/2006 at 10:12am User: Anonymous User Rating: I give this a 5 star because it really helped on last minute notice with father's day and also it tastes very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy... Thanks Tyler! 05/16/2006 at 01:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I tried this recipe on Mother's Day and it was a huge success! The pancake batter was not too sweet, so when combined with banana and pecan it tasted incredible! Thank you Tyler! I will definitely make this again! YUM YUM YUM 04/18/2006 at 06:10pm User: KRISTIN from Phoenixville, PA User Rating: Wow is that sooooo good. We had these beauties for our Easter Morning breakfast and it didn't disappoint. I did make the maple butter, but it was oozey - even made the day before. Next time I think I'll just do the butter pat and a little syrup over top. The pulverized pecans I think really put it over the top - OUTSTANDING TYLER - it really is the ultimate! Easter Breakfast Hit! 04/16/2006 at 03:28pm User: samantha from murrieta, CA User Rating: A recipe you will keep in your arcives for holidays and special occasions. Simple to make and delicious! Thanks Tyler! Best Pancakes 03/30/2006 at 07:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Your receipe is the best. Thanks Tyler. Very very yummy even with adaptations 02/24/2006 at 02:29am User: Anonymous User Rating: I used walnuts instead of pecans, and didn't make the butter -- just poured on the maple syrup. VERY delicious, and super easy. Tastes good but dense 01/22/2006 at 01:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The recipe was easy to prepare but the ratio of wet to dry ingredients is off and especially the extra fat in the three eggs is too much and makes for heavy dense pancakes. Taste is excellent maybe decrease eggs and add buttermilk. Maple butter doesn't add much since you can put butter an maple syrup on them anyway. Yes Tyler is very cute but I'm only rating the recipe. easy, classic 01/16/2006 at 02:56pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very good, classic, easy recipe for buttermilk pancakes. Mine came out a little tough, but will try it again and thin out the batter slightly. Awsome 01/16/2006 at 12:39pm User: Jerry from Delphos, OH User Rating: The closest thing to perfection in comfort food. addictive at first bite worth all the prep time! 01/02/2006 at 05:07pm User: SHARON from seattle, WA User Rating: These pancakes are so good! Kids loved 'em 11/23/2005 at 07:02pm User: Tracy from Seattle, WA User Rating: I found this recipe to be very easy to prepare and serve, plus the maple butter stays in the fridge and can be used in Cream of Wheat or oatmeal cereals up to a week after preparation. great 10/14/2005 at 04:15pm User: sonali from charlottesville, VA User Rating: i tried it.its simply tastes heaven. DELICIOUS 06/13/2005 at 08:23pm User: Dawn from Baltimore, MD User Rating: What a wonderful treat I had the morning my daughter made these for me. Absolutely delicious blend of flavors. Will definitely make this again. First time from scratch 02/26/2005 at 09:12am User: MARJORIE from Norwalk, CT User Rating: Made this recipe with some trepidation, but it turned out a joy. Light and tasty. A little sweet for my taste when paired with syrup (my husband didn't find it so). Will use a little less sugar next time or not use the syrup. Great 02/10/2005 at 08:36pm User: JIM from Huntsville, AL User Rating: These were the best pancakes I ever ate. Only thing I did differently was used candied pecans inside of the pancakes instead of regular. They're also good without the bananas. banana 02/05/2005 at 05:47am User: Anonymous User Rating: these were the best pancakes ever!! Best pancakes ever 01/27/2005 at 05:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I LOVE these pancakes! I've tried a lot of good pancake recipes, but I must admit, these truly are the best. Everyone I've fed them to raves about them. I've tried different fruit variation. Banana, fresh blueberries, and ground pecans is my favorite. Even my husband, who doesn't like bananas, thought these were outstanding. This is a must try recipe...you won't regret it. WOW! 01/25/2005 at 01:49pm User: AMY from Simsbury, CT User Rating: I was completely blown away by how good these tasted. My kids HATE nuts but didn't mind the ground pecans in the batter. The bananas were sweet and melded with the other flavors perfectly. MOLTO BUONO! 01/21/2005 at 10:13am User: TRACY from plainfield, IL User Rating: THIS WAS SO EASY AND SO GOOD. IT ITS ALSO KID FRIENDLY. MY KIDS JUST LOVED HELP MAKING THEM BUT MOST OF ALL THEY LOVED EATING THEM. Best pancakes I've ever had. 12/14/2004 at 01:12am User: JENNA from Reading, PA User Rating: Neither pancakes nor bananas are my favorite, but this is a fantastic combination. nice! 11/30/2004 at 10:39pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I love pancakes but I really don't know how to cook them well after I made the batter. I tried making the batter which was very easy to make. Although my results in cooking the pancakes is so so due to my burning the pancakes partially....the taste of the cooked batter was wonderful. I will definitely make this again, I just need to perfect my pancakes flipping and cooking skills. This batter is a keeper! Great 11/21/2004 at 07:16pm User: ERIC from Tucson, AZ User Rating: The pancakes were easy to make and were a delight to my family. They may have replaced a long standing recipe of my own, but that remains to be seen. Easy AND Delicious! 11/18/2004 at 02:07pm User: CHRISTINA from Frisco, TX User Rating: Very simple...never use a box again! linda 11/03/2004 at 11:33am User: LINDA from Anaheim, CA User Rating: This was greaat! My son who is 10 made them and there were outstanding! NO MORE BOXED PANCAKES 08/08/2004 at 09:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Since I've tried this base recipe thats sooo easy to do and tastes fantastic, I've shunned boxed pancakes from my grocery cart. It's melt-in-your-mouth kind that's low on saturated oil or butter is wonderful for my kids. I usually add fresh ripe mangoes, choco chips, mashed ripe bananas or corn kernels to Tyler's wonderful pancake base. You can dust it with cocoa powder, sugar or just butter and syrup. Thanks Tyler for this treasure find. Best pancakes 05/29/2004 at 10:36am User: TONI from reynoldsburg, OH User Rating: This is the best pancake recipe I have tried and trust me I have tried ALOT!! They are moist, light, fluffy and full of flavor. I have used the recipe in other ways also. My family likes all different pancakes, so I make the base and then add the add-ins depending on what my family wants. Just banana, banana toasted pecan, pecans, blueberry, peach , strawberry...you name it. Thanks Tyler, great pancakes. Sincerely, Toni In Ohio |
