Orzo w/ parsley and lemon zest

The lemon zest was too acidy. I will try again possibly cooking the orzo in chicken stock and adding lemon juice instead of the zest.

Nice Alternative

My teen and I really liked this. It was a nice alternative to the usual, and all so easy to make. Glad I found this, as I'll make it again, and I thought of how to change it another time too. Thanks team! Between you all and my PC, I've taught myself to cook in this last year.

excellent

the orzo was okay. i added some lemon juice to enhance the taste but i found it all to be too much lemon flavoring and bland.

Amazing

Quick, easy, and delicious! A light compliment to any main dish. It's a great leftover too!

Unless you want risotto, rinse the pasta to get the starch out. Put it back in the pan to re-heat with a Tablespoon of butter. Add all the ingredients plus a little squeeze of lemon & dash of parmesan just on the top.

Loved it

This is a great recipe to serve with any meat dish. Very refreshing with the lemon and parsley and very special instead of just plain rice or noodles.

I found this lacking until I added butter - just what it needed. Will prepare this dish again.

Hey without the knowledge of how to zest a lemon this recipe at first was difficult! However, now I know using a grater is as good as anything. The recipe is light, filling, and refreshing. To my suprise the lemon zest is amazing; perhaps a bit too many zesties in my opinion. However, one of my guests described this dish with the statment, "couldn't be better." What a great night! I will make this many more times.

I added more evoo, garlic powder and squeezed the juice from the 2 lemons into it to spark it up. I also took the suggestion of another reader and added crumbled feta. It was very tasty this way. Next time I will try adding sliced calamata olives to make it a truly greek side dish.

Wonderful recipe

It's very simple and oh so tasty! the aroma alone is enough to get you invigorated. I liked the idea of not having a suace, it was a nice change. You can actually taste the flavors in the food , which is the result I was looking for. Terrific!!

Nice, Easy Side-dish

I did cook my orzo in salted chicken stock and added a little lemon juice to the cooking liquid. Then I mixed in the other ingredients along with 2 T. butter. I will make it again this way.

I went online to find a quick and tasty orzo side dish for dinner last night and came across this recipe. It definitely fit the bill! I only made one cup of dry pasta, used the zest of one lemon, dried parsley (1 tsp) and followed the rest of the recipe. My husband, daughter and I loved its light lemony flavor. I made it again today for lunch!
