Worth your time! 12/07/2004 at 12:01am User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe does not require hard labor. The only other addition to the bun and burger I added was mayonnaise on the bread. I did not make the tartar sauce because in my opinion, the recipe did not require it due to its great flavor. I would describe the taste as not shrimpy (strong odor of shrimp), a great balance of ingredients, and the cayenne kicks it up a notch. I now understand why Emeril says that. That is the only way I could describe the cayenne addition :.), I will defenately make this again :.) This is great 11/11/2004 at 03:15pm User: HEATH from Bradenton, FL User Rating: I'm one of those Cajuns from South Louisiana(!!! Now transplanted in Florida)) and I've eaten this similar dish many times but this one took it to the top. It is absolutely great. Whenever I make this for friends, it's quite a spectacle because they just can't stop saying how great it is. Tasty! 10/25/2005 at 07:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The best tasting burger if you love shrimp! A five star way to use shrimp..... 10/13/2005 at 01:15pm User: MICHAEL from glendale, CA User Rating: I would agree with the other reviewers this is a unique and delicious alternative to meat burgers. Afte cooking it appears to look like a quasi shrimp 'crab cake.' The flavor is a "wow" and probably one of Emeril's best recipes. The only problem was keeping the finished shrimp burgers together. I used Costco peeled and devaned shrimp. After thawing the shrimp, I noticed while taking off the small remaining shrimp tails it seemd pretty wet. I continued with making the recipe anyway but I realized afterward that I should have paper toweled the packaging water from the shrimp before choppping it and adding the the other components. A small fix to an otherwise excellent 5 star recipe. timely, but worth it 09/18/2006 at 09:26am User: Paula from wesley chapel, FL User Rating: best burger ever Yummy creole burger 09/03/2006 at 10:52pm User: Cherie from Costa Mesa, CA User Rating: This was an awesome dish, I served it with wedged potatos and the best part was the home-made tarter sauce - better than ANY fancy restaurant. The only problem I experienced was the fact that the patties do not stick together easily. Use shredded lettuce, helps keep things together. My husband said it was the best meal he had in a long time. Next Party.......... 08/23/2004 at 11:14am User: BARBARA from pompano beach, FL User Rating: I have also made these several times also & everytime we have them we remember why we make them again. I dont really like my seafood "chopped up" but you have to try these.. Next party we plan to serve these as a appetizer...the seasonings are the key to the flavors - make sure to let it marinate all together..you're gonna love 'em too!!! Great new way to have shrimp!!! Great Burgers, especially for Lent 07/29/2006 at 03:26pm User: Jennifer from Jupiter, FL User Rating: Being as I always crave a burger on Fridays during lent, this recipe is fulfills that need for something absolutely amazing. The only issue I had is that the first couple of times they were too watery. I learned the hard way to let the shrimp sit in a strainer for a few minutes to drain the excess water from the shrimp. This has fast become a family favorite! excelent to outstanding 07/09/2006 at 11:29pm User: sonny from mesa, AZ User Rating: great southern recipe. I drained the shrimp and patted them dry,so the bergers would not fall apart(as much). I also sprinkled some flour on the shrimp for the same reason. Handel with care 07/08/2006 at 01:32pm User: Jeremie from Lafayette, LA User Rating: This was an unexpected and very yummy shrimp dish. I do have to warn you though that you have to handle the mix with delicate hands. Be careful and you will be rewarded. I've been on Atkins for a year now and I'm always looking for a new idea. Shrimp burgers without the bread are awesome. I just wish Emeril would have de-veined the shrimp on his show before he chopped them. Thanks Emeril, for another great meal!!! The BEST Burger ever! 06/23/2004 at 05:31am User: Anonymous User Rating: This is one of the dishes I make often! It is a healthy alternative to the classic burger! We need rehab now! Thanks Emeril! Loved it! 06/17/2006 at 06:49pm User: CANDACE from Sarasota, FL User Rating: Awesome! Easy to make. Great for casual entertaining. Loved every bite. great alternative burger 06/08/2004 at 01:51pm User: MICHELLE from san Diego, CA User Rating: These burgers are great. I added wasabi to the tartar sauce to make it more of an Asian flavor to go with the shrimp, and I would recommended radish sprouts to go in the burger as well. THE BEST!!!! 06/04/2006 at 09:36pm User: Shannon from Waynesboro, TN User Rating: Best meal I've ever cooked! Tasted out of this world! Good but messy! 05/19/2005 at 04:36pm User: SHERETA from bowie, MD User Rating: The burgers were very different and tasty. I loved his recipe for tartar sauce it went really well with the burger. Butt...... it was unblievably messy. Only 3 turned out as burgers and they soon fell apart. So it ended up a really shrimp po boy. WOW!! 04/18/2005 at 06:43pm User: SARAH from Flowery Branch, GA User Rating: These babies are WONDERFUL!! I did find that they were a bit messy for forming into burgers so I added a bit of flour into the mix. And since there are only 2 of us, I made half the recipe, saved the second half of mixture for the next night, and it was just as good!! I mixed mayo w/wasabi instead of using tartar sauce and it was fabulous....a new favorite, for sure!! Worth making essence for 03/05/2006 at 07:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Apparently the draining of the burger mix for the entire time noted is IMPORTANT. Excellent taste. Delicious!!! 02/27/2007 at 02:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this recipe for my in-laws and they were very impressed. We are all from Louisiana and love seafood. If you are looking for a recipe to wow an audience, this is the recipe. Marcell's Shrimp Burgers 01/30/2005 at 02:11pm User: DEBBI from Mohnton, PA User Rating: I thought this recipe was great, my family loved them. Will make these often. Thank Again and again 01/20/2007 at 09:22pm User: Melissa from Memphis, TN User Rating: I was very nervous about eating Shrimp Burgers, but my family loves shrimp, so I had to give it a try. They reminded me of veggie burgers. You can taste all the vegetables individually. There's only 3 of us, so we had enough for the next night as well. I mean really, did you see the size of the burgers Emril made? I couldn't eat a burger that big. I put the rest of the mixture in a container, and it was as good as new. WOW! 01/14/2005 at 01:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: They were awesome. I used a little Old Bay Seasoning instead. |
