I loved the sweet and spicy of the BBQ sauce. Extra sauce is great on grilled chicken or chops.

Not as good as I hoped

Maybe it was the beer I used (Newcastle was all I had on hand that was dark), but the taste of these ribs was not what I expected. They had a taste I just couldn't define that I did not like. I made a half rack of ribs, a quarter of the sauce and still had too much sauce. I will not be making these again and hope to find a better recipe. For all the work, I would have done better to just use some bottled sauce and spruced it up.

For the 3rd year in a row, this is the turkey our family enjoyed this past Thanksgiving and will for years to come. Easy, so tender, moist, and flavorful. We use organic free-range turkeys for even better flavor (and better life for the bird).

King of the ribs

User: KEVIN from farmington, MN    User Rating:
ive tried several rib recipes and this one was simply awesome. the sauce is a must, it was easy to make and had all the flavor you come to expect from emeril. i used the sauce for several days after for other meals. the ribs were also terrific, with the only caveat being i truly prefer a slow cooked rib. i already have a new rack in the freezer for the next time i use this recipe, you have to try it. the best part? it allowed me to take back the title of king of the ribs from my friend and neighbor who made some killer ribs. we compete often and thanks to this great emeril recipe, its good to be king!

Emeril's Baby Back Rib & Potato Salad

User: FELICIA from APO, CA    User Rating:
My family loved the ribs and potato salad. It didn't take no time to prepare the food but I did have to substitute the beer. I live in Korea and on the military base there isn't a variety of beer so I had to use Beck's Beer and the ribs still came out great. The ribs were so tender that the meat was falling off the bone and that barbecue sauce was DELIOUS. This was a great recipe. Love you Emeril!!!

Amazing Ribs!!!!!

Absolutely by far the best ribs I (we) have ever had! The recipe was easy and beyond tender! Emeril, you have out done yourself on this one. In addition, we made Paula Dean's Corn on the Cob with bacon, and the two together was heaven on earth! If we could rate this recipe above five stars we would! Thanks again Emeril! Ribs are Tasty - Potato Salad Is Less than a Smash

The ribs are terrific. Not a Purist's version, according to my hoity-toity Bbque Enthusiast Friends, but every bit as tasty and a whole lot easier without sweating over the grill hours on end. The Potato Salad was Okay... but pleas, DO NOT OVER-MASH them! Chunks Live in this recipie for much better texture. My son and wife (she doesn't usually like ribs) both enjoyed this recipie and I know you-all will too.

Very tasty, very easy to adjust

Great tasting ribs. Some ingredients unavailable so I used SARNAC Black and Tan ale, dark molasses, merlot and three whole jalapeno(kick it up a notch). Saved some money by using pork ribs instead of babyback. I use a blender for the wine, jalepeno and half the onion; dice the other half of onion by hand for texture. BAM

My husband and I spent all afternoon yesterday making the ribs and barbeque sauce. The result was average ribs. As much time as we put in, we expected much higher quality ribs. We have high expectations from Emeril and have yet to try a recipe that we were not satisfied with. This was the first disappointing recipe.

Ribs at their Ultimate Best!

EXCELLENT!!! These are by far the absolute best homemade bbq ribs I have ever tasted!! I am not big on ribs as it is so hard to find good, tender, fall-off-the-bone, flavorful ribs with great bbq sauce. Even when dining out it is difficult. I've been disapointed most times. But after reading numerous reviews on how fabulous these ribs are I just had to try them. I was daring and made them for a small birthday dinner with another couple. I also made bbq chicken which had received high reviews, but these ribs were the hit! We all were fighting over them! I made the smashed potato salad and cole slaw with a spicy twist to it. Dessert was homemade Key lime pie, to help cool things off. The whole meal was fabulous and I received raves on it. I already have purchased a large order of babyback ribs and they are waiting in my freezer to be bbq using this recipe. Try this one, you will not be disappointed!!! Guaranteed!!!

These are fantastic! I used this recipe for the 4th of July this year and my family just loved the ribs. So moist and flavorful. I will use this over and over again. I basted my ribs with the sauce and wrapped them in foil and baked them for 2 1/2 hours at 200. Slow cooking is the way to go. Once done, I finished the ribs off on the grill with Emeril's sauce. EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Thanks Emeril!!!

Smoked Ribs - Best Ever!

User: BRAD from Lexington, KY    User Rating:
I have smoked ribs over 20 different ways. These are so tender that I had to use a spatula to transfer them from the roaster to the smoker. The sauce really makes them! This is the first homemade sauce that I (and all of my guests) have ever enjoyed.

I followed the recipe precisely and the whole thing was very good. I've added the salad recipe to my favorites as it's easy to make from what's in the house and tastes great. The rib sauce is better than anything I've bought too. The methodology is a little time consuming I prefer to boil the ribs then broil them in the oven slathered in sauce.

Such an easy bbq recipe (that's very versatile) - especially since I utilized another reviewer's method and threw everything for the sauce in the food processor. "Delicious" was every guest's comment and the potato salad was such a nice change from the ordinary.

User: EMILY from Crystal Lake, IL    User Rating:
We did these ribs 100% on the grill and not in the oven but I still thought I would review. The sauce was amazing! I had leftover grilled red onion from the night before so I added that to the sauce. I used 1 whole jalepeno minced as well because I like a lot of spice. I pureed it in a food processor so that it would be smooth. The sauce was fantastic and I like that it makes plenty to have to spoon extra on the ribs and to have for later in the week. I would highly recommend this recipe. The sauce is killer.

I have never made Baby Back Ribs before and had a BBQ to go to. I made this recipe exactly as it is stated. I couldn't find the dark ale recommended but used Black Toad dark ale instead, it worked. It is a trader Joes brand and cheap. This is the best Baby Back Ribs I have ever tasted. I am going to save my money on those expensive restaurants and make my own from now on. Thank you Emeril for such a great recipe! I had leftover BBQ sauce and put it in a meatloaf the next day. That is euphoric! I don't have a famiy and live alone but I am making baby back ribs for myself tomorrow. I didn't get any of it at the BBQ. It was all gone in 5 minutes. I made two racks with this recipe. I also used 4 bottles of ale as someone else suggested. I love cooking and totally enjoyed this experience.

User: JESSIE from Mt. Pleasant, SC    User Rating:
These were very good and easy to make w/o drying out or overcooking. The sauce is a great, and the beer adds a distictive flavor--I used Sammy Smith Oatmeal Porter and was very pleased--so was my dining companion! The potato salad runs a bit dry, so try adding a little more liquid for a creamier consistancy.

Baby Back Ribs--YUM!!!!!!

First of all, I rubbed the ribs with more Essence than Emeril calls for in his recipe.I also lined a roasting pan with heavy duty foil and placed the ribs insdie and covered with dark beer. I used 4 bottles of 12 ounce dark beer. Secondly, I made the barbecue sauce the same night I marinated the ribs to let the flavors combine. The following day, I baked the ribs in the roaster with the beer, covered at 325 degrees for 2 hours, then proceeded with the grill. Yum!!These were outstanding as well as the barbecue sauce. I didn't make Emeril's smashed potato salad. Instead, I served the ribs with baby red potatoes I baked in olive oil and a bunch of spices as well as the leftover jalapeno pepper. Also served a green salad and enjoyed this dinner with beer. Outrageous good!!!!

Incredible sauce. It hits as sweet at first and then expands into a spicy hot sauce. I used riblets instead of the baby back since that's what I had on hand. Also added 1/4 c bourbon to the sauce and simmered it for about 30-40 minutes before using.
