No Catsup!! However, I was just at Wrigley Field and had a delicious hot dog that had grilled onions on it instead of raw, so it can be made both ways. (True Chicago dogs have raw onions though). No bananna peppers!! Sport peppers. All beef dogs, poppy seed buns (steamed), mustard, onions relish, tomatoes, kosher dill pickle sliced longways, and celery salt. YUMM!!
Ketchup debate...

Being a Chicago native, I agree that certain things are needed for a "true" Chicago hot dog. However, just because I happen to like ketchup on my Chicago hot dog does not make me any less of a Chicagoan than anyone else. I am really tired of the ridiculous ketchup comments...

I don't know who invented this recipe, but they should travel to Chicago sometime and try a hot dog. They will notice there is no catsup.

Dogs at Wrigley are arguably the worst in baseball. Not a real good idea to have a recipe named after them in my opinion.

Catsup should not be a condiment option. Cucumbers, tomatoes and hot sport peppers not sweet banana peppers.Mustard, pickle relish, and celery salt a definite must.
