I turned this into a dinner by putting the steak over noodles and putting the sauce on top of that. Yum-o if I am allowed to use that expression.

I made this for a party, and everyone raved about it! Truth is, it *almost* didn't make it out of the house - I loved the sauce so much, it was hard to resist! The only chane I'd make is next time I will grill the steak, then cut it into small pieces.

It was very tasty. The sauce tasted just like a bloody mary but there was too much sauce for the portion of meat in recipe. Had to throw away alot of xtra sauce.

Made this for Halloween dinner 2006 - ez to do - quick and so yummy!! Also made shrimp to go along with it and the sauce is equally as good with it! For 40+ yrs - I've always had the "traditional meal" of grilled cheese and tomato soup for Halloween dinner - but figured since I'm all grown up now, I should "venture" onto something new and I'm so glad I did!! I'll definitely make it again!

Sauce lacked flavor
10/15/2006 at 10:58am
User: Chip from Little Rock, AR    User Rating:
I felt the sauce lacked any flavor. It tasted like dipping pieces of steak in tomato sauce. And for an appetizer or party food this really is not a good idea because when it gets cold, it's not good at all.

quick, yummy and fun

User: Cindy from University Place, WA    User Rating:
This recipe is fun and easy. The first time my husband made this he did put a little too much seasoning on the steakbites and they came out quite salty. Even so it was still phenomenal. We will definitely make this again. The sauce is much better served warm then cold. Would also be great on regular steak.

Huge Party Hit!

Served this along with other appetizers and it was the first to go. I used rib-eye steak, I think a less expensive cut would not taste as good. Everyone loved them. Next time I will double the steak bites. It makes plenty of sauce. Thanks alot Rachael.

These were really awesome. The dipping sauce was just perfect. The steak was super tender and juicy. We did use ribeye steak. As it says, don't move the meat around too much, 2 minutes per side was just right. Did cut the meat into smaller pieces as others suggested. Thanks RR another winner, you rock!

I used garlic as well in the sauce (to keep the vampires away!). I also had some mushrooms that I had to use up so I halved them and sauteed them with the steak. Trick or treat!

User: cami from fort worth, TX    User Rating:
I made these as a dinner w/ mozzarella sticks & a fresh salad & altho these were good, I don't think they were good enough to make the sauce again. I think I may have reduced too much vodka out (was afraid it would be overpowering) & I know I used too much onion but I still don't think those changes would really make that big a difference. I will, however, make the bites (I used rib-eyes) again & save myself some trouble & just use a pre-prepared sauce (or better yet...just some butter). I did take other's suggestions to double up on the garlic & hot sauce & I also added the cornstarch & it was a decent sauce for something else maybe but just a little too much trouble for the steak bites.

delicious bites!
